HOW IS THIS GAME BETTER THAN MOST AAA TITLES!? | EDF 6 Review

Earth Defense Force 6 is one of my favorite games to come out this year. It's strange to see many of the triple A titles fail so badly while a game like this can shine brighter than them. You are an EDF soldier tasked on defending the earth against a primer invasion. With monsters that look VERY similar to bugs we have in real life. (if you have arachnophobia this game is not for you). Dive into a convoluted story where your character is basically a demigod of death.

Though, jokes aside, they do speak (and give orders) in reverse Japanese and heavily implied to be the mutated humans in our distant future, used by primers as cannon fodder. It also heavily implied in EDF6 that what you see on a screen is a result of soldiers deluding themselves out of sheer fear and terror while the enemy look differently from an objective point of view. Finally, the core aspect of EDF is that all humanity united and has extremely friendly and welcoming disposition for any intelligent lifeforms and it takes them years of severe desperate fight for survival to develop disgust and anger at their enemies, hence why they reluctant to shoot at humanoid aliens but later on glee on killing their fleeing ranks and "children" of such or greys.

Honestly, EDF has somehow perfected the formula of "WTF IS GOING ON" - Absolute insanity - Insanely nonsensical story - constant gunfire, explosions, and screaming And somehow it comes together to make one of the best games known to man

Pretty crazy that I’ve been playing this game series since I was 7 years old, my parents used to work for GameStop and they brought home EDF 4.1 and at the time I was a big fan of starship troopers. I loved the game but then I reached mission 27, the first time I saw ergiuns that was the mission that got me hooked because I was a huge fan of Godzilla and kaiju in general so that was the mission that made me obsessed with this series

Fun fact: the Siren got its name because it can summon Scylla en mass.

And Siren are actually bird women rather than the fish women they are depicted as. So saying it's a bird, then calling it a Siren makes sense. ITS STILL WEIRD THEY KNOW WHAT A DRAGON IS BUT CALL IT A BIRD

My favorite thing about Aranea is that my favorite weapon type is a Sniper Rifle. While I’m picking them off from the back of the map, my teammates are all get slowly snagged and dragged to their doom. Hilarious every time.

I kind of didn't care for the whole time travel thing playing literal missions from edf 5 but once the new enemies starting taking over those missions it was more enjoyable. Love this series wish it was a tad more popular so lobbies would have more people

I am very confused by the level of equipment he has, but the severe lack of health. As a wingdiver main, who has almost beaten the game on hard mode (I haven't finished yet cause I play with friends), I lack a fuel pack that reaches 800 energy, and have no idea where that dragoon lance came from, but I have 3 times that health

In my playthrough with my friends, I never played as wingdiver. We also beat the game on hard then jumped to hardest for the dlc. We were also stubborn enough to never grind for equipment haha

Lucky...mine always bitched and said "we can't do this on this mode/with these weapons" and I was like "NO we're just not playing the map/waves perfect enough, the EDF always come through dammit!" 🤣 Skipping straight to hard is definitely the way to start. Missions are so intense that way and the weapons get good a lot faster (plus they made it easier to for weapon/armor gains regardless of performance/class anyways).

fun fact, you havent created a time paradox, mega god tryed to warp back in time but died, his body fell down like an oversized turd, while the ship? back in time in india where we learn about alians, validating the need for EDF, so insted of drunk protogod crashing, the ship parts came from the future, wich i guess still hold cause they went back into the past to see what humans were.

well they designed the ship specifically so storm 1 would time travel without him the time paradox does not exist causing another paradox where the primers still have to fix humanities existence causing him to time travel anyway they needed a definitive contradiction in the timeline much like the end game where humanity created a definitive contradiction one survives the other gets erased.

Something I like about EDF 6 is the various proper alien species you fight (like the Cosmonauts and Kruul) are the same alien race, just at different points in time. Since you're fighting the entire Primer civilization across their entire existence, you're fighting them across their evolution over millions of years too.

...I clearly made a mistake thinking I could just get away with buying 5 because it was cheaper. 😅 Don't get me wrong, having a blast ("the Ranger/Wing Diver/Air Raider/Fencer is undoubtedly the best class in the game"), but as a series fan since 3/2017, with 200ish hours in 4.1, I watch this video and think...fuck. Why didn't I play 5 sooner, and why didn't I buy ohhhhh right the stupid EGS thing. Yeah well that's gone now so now I have no excuse, other than "wasted" progress in EDF 5.

Yeah, just got EDF 6. Instantly found that you can change the voices to Japanese. I haven't played it with English voices from day 1. Seems like a normal game. Everyone keeps saying the writing is bad, but y'all aren't playing it in it's original language. Because you don't want to read subtitles. Smh 😂 ok

Even as someone who played EDF 5 i didnt really mind because its all changed up the whole time travel thing is fun and farming and the classes got improved. And also i have more fun and playtime with EDF than most triple A games.
