Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥 Always glad to see new reactors getting into this amazing group currently doing the Babyklok Tour around the US and making fans going bonkers with this brand new collab song along with guitar legend Tom Morello. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin (no Kpop nor Korean), they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. "This is officially the first new song by the newly reborn BABYMETAL, now consisting of SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL. This song is very up-tempo and one that was created with the envision of a summer festival taking place in a metal village and everyone forming a circle to celebrate the festival. BABYMETAL is ready to make this summer even hotter with their new song. BABYMETAL are now celebrating a very special collaboration with legendary guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. This collaboration with BABYMETAL will become a very exciting opportunity for both artists transcending generations." Tom Morello comment: _"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"_ Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV (2015) I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. See you next time 🦊🤘🎸

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn-pmneNf81lfKM - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWOWaGV5arV9gq8 - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moaWaXaPoNV1rKs - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKjWmqGjrbmrmNE - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIPGapeYnM51hqs - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJibhpKgZcyjgqs - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/boildZyCgrONmac - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). kzbin.info/www/bejne/eITNp2yFjtmKkJI - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5uQhoR_odamf7M If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4TdimyagZtkabM - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5W3YqytjrdoidE - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6Smp4yMg8p3Ztk - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHyyfWmsaLKXaMU - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2mpfKijq81grZo Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpiTg6yimMxrfJI This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2WTh6CKfbibasU And here's a BM guide (the long one). kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXXRlmOurNOcisk There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4mYp51nYrialZYsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘

Welcome to the miracle of Babymetal. Dive into the foxhole and you'll never come back. There is so much to see, hear and experience. Truly one of the most unique experinces you'll encounter, and I'm not saying this lighly. I'll recommend something older but a fave among fans. "Headbanger" live legend 1997 (referencing lead singers Su-Metal's birth year) at her 16th birthday concert. Fhi live performaces are the way to go with them for the full experience. No matter what song you'll react to next of them will be a hit. See you next time and kitsune up 🤟🦊🤟

Welcome & Thanks from Japan, homeland of BABYMETAL 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover). BABYMETAL is now going on North American tour (30 gigs in USA and Canada) with Dethklok. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Please explore BM more. Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

You think that rock and metal still have their home in America or Europe? Well, I hate to disappoint you, but that's not the case anymore. :) There are tons of bands from Japan that are showing even the biggest names how it's properly done. Babymetal, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, Asterism, Trident, Lovebites.... Believe me, I could list more bands. _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ is a statement from comments I am only too happy to quote. 😉🤘🏻 Greetings from Germany. _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' 🎶🕊

This band is 13 years old, since 2010, since the girls were 12 and 11. 4 studio albums, more than a dozen albums live. 60+ songs. Biggest Japanese band in history outside Japan by far. They are presently doing a world tour since April and are in America for the past 2 weeks. 30 shows in America. Yesterday they were in Boston, tonight they are in New York.

The World is Big and you have just expanded yours!!! Welcome to the World or "Kawaii Metal" - (cute metal)!! Babymetal is Japan's #1 International Group! They stared back in 2010 as a sub-group of the Idol 'Sakura Gakuin' but have just grown more and more popular over the years...to the point that their 2nd Album in 2016 hit #39 (their first top 40 album) on Billboards "Hot 200" chart and their 3rd Album hit #1 in the USA on Billboard's "Top Rock Album" chart in 2019 and they just released their 4th album arnd are currently (right now) on the USA leg of their 2023 World Tour!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

Lots of other good comments on BabyMetal on here already. A few other thoughts: BabyMetal has many supporters in the music industry with Rob Halford (lead singer of Judas Priest) being the first big name musician to partner with them. Tom Morello is the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine, and he said that he wanted to play with them for a long time before this song came out. BabyMetal is featured on the song The End on Lil Uzi Vert's new album. While this song is great, BabyMetal is one thousands times better live. Their song Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) is insane. I also suggest that you check out Headbanger from Legend of 1997 Apocalypse (the 1997 refers to the year the lead singer was born). Those are two of their breakout live performances that are often reacted to (but beware of copyright claims). BabyMetal released a new album about a year ago and have been touring in support of it. They are currently in tour across the US along with Dethklok before heading to Europe at the end of this year.

I just got home from seeing them in concert 15 minutes ago. They were awesome. Btw...Japanese female hard rock metal bands are absurdity plentiful. I have a playlist with at least 15 bands from there . They are all good, but this band is something else. It is It's own genre. They have been around for 10 years or so. Watch some of their stuff from way back. They were so young. Seeing 3 cute girls in tutus singing pop style songs with heavy metal blew my mind the first time i watched them. It shouldn't work, but it so does

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before. They originally fused metal with JPop aesthetics (yes they are Japanese, so it is JPop - not KPop), but they have gone on to mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. BABYMETAL are one of the best live acts on the planet (and have international awards to prove that is not just my opinion). They are currently touring the US and Canada with Dethklok (the Babyklok Tour) until some time in October and they will be back in the UK and Europe in November and December. They are Su-metal (lead vocalist) and Moametal and, since April 1st this year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in - audience participation is a huge part of what BABYMETAL are all about). The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues. Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers) dancing in the third spot (it was the same one, Momoko, from about February 2020 - they teased the reveal of a new third member in April - happily it was her, so she is all mic'd up and singing as well as dancing now). They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it. You already have some great suggestions for more songs in the comments below. On this song with Tom Morello (he was lead guitarist with Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and probably other bands). They have been playing this live in every show on the current US tour and the live performances of this have been completely wild and the crowds are going nuts! 🤘🤪🤘 This is Momometal's first official music video since she was revealed as the official new member in April and she even got her own solo part with the spoken kabuki theatre section. The song title translates as 'Metali' (or 'Metari') which is a fusion of the words metal and matsuri (festival). The song is about a Metal Village holding a metal festival, so they have included all the matsuri shouts everybody would be calling out as encouragement to the people carrying heavy floats etc like "Sore, Sore", "Dokoisho" and "Wasshoi!". They are inviting us all to dance - I am reliably informed there is something in the lyrics (Su sings it and it is in Momometal's kabuki section) about we are all idiots or fools - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance.

Welcome to the Babymetal Foxhole; it's called that because Babymetal's patron deity is The Fox God. Babymetal are Japanese and started back in 2010 when the original members were 11 and 12 years old. You could describe them as a manufactured group as they come out of a J-pop tradition and work for the Amuse Talent Agency. Babymetal's producer, Kei Kobayashi, heard Suzuka Nakamoto singing in a short lived group called Karen Girls and thought that her voice would work well in a rock/metal context. So when they both became involved in the Amuse Talent Agency school themed j-pop group "Sakura Gakuin" the stage was set of Kobayashi to implement his plan. The conceit of Sakura Gakuin was that the girls sang all together and also in sub-groups with various themes like the cooking club, the science club and Babymetal started as the Heavy Metal Club with lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto and backing vocals and dancing from Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi. They were so successful that they were spun off as Babymetal in 2013 with their own backing band called the Kami Band made up of very talented and experienced musicians. In 2017-18 Yui Mizuno left due to poor health and was just replaced by Momoko Okazaki (also a former Sakura Gakuin member) in early 2023. Yui has not made any public appearances since she left Babymetal , but she still has a "talent page" on the Amuse website which fans interpret as her still being under contract which is rather unusual. Babymetal tour internationally and fill major venues and back in Japan have played to 55000 in the Tokyo Dome. Their fans are very enthusiastic, to the point that the catch phrase "#notacult" is often used, usually ironically, but sometimes I wonder... In the video the seated figure at the beginning is wearing a fox mask and is playing a shamisen (a Japanese 3 stringed instrument) which we hear through out the song. The title of the song is "Metali" which is a mash up of "Metal" and the word for Japanese summer festivals, "matsuri" and it encourages everyone to get up and dance. The summer festival references are also seen in the crouched dancing, and the backup dancers wearing hyotoko masks. The instrumentation and the staging of the video reminds me of the 2013 video BM did for Megitsune. In that they challenged Japanese traditional attitudes towards women and in the "Metali" video they also break some Japanese taboos; they wear boots on tatami mats, they kick over tea trays and they have Momoko doing some kabuki style vocals and posing which is traditionally only performed by men. I recommend you next look at the video for "Megitsune" so you can see the similarities and how BM have changed. You should also listen to "Tales of the Destinies" if you want your mind blown.

Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. I see you already have a ton of information about them, so I just want to remark a few things you need to know right now. First, they are very diverse musically since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre (EDM, hip-hop, pop, rock, folk, salsa, ska...) with any metal sub-genre. Second, they are sometimes considered a live act. Their live performances are definitely on another level so we generally suggest to watch live videos.. So, here is my usual vague recommendation: always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. 😁 Enjoy tour BABYMETAL journey! 🤘🦊

BabyMetal, proving Japan is from a different planet. As others have commented, they were children when BabyMetal first started. They had a band behind them miming playing. Thanks to the success of their track Gimmie Chocolate, on KZbin they began to get a large fan base outside Japan. Later on but not too long, in their career a real band of insanely talented musicians were added, called the Kami Band. The bizarre concept of J-pop girls singing and dancing to heavy metal just should not work but it did. Everywhere BabyMetal played live, all rock and metal musicians stood with them to have their photograph taken. They received rave reviews but still so many could not grasp the concept. Thirteen years later and still performing and having tracks such as this one, is still captivating, as you have found out.

Japanese metal has been around since the 70's, had a bit of revival in the 80/90's with Show-Ya and X-Japan (the greatest)...but since around 2010 it's been exploding around the world with bands like Destrose, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Babymetal, Fate Gear...and recently (the last couple of years, 5 or so) just crazy with Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Trident and many many more!

There is a little nod so to speak in this video early on. The 2 main girl dancers backup singers whatever you want to call them there is a thing they call Flipping the Table and I believe it's in some anime as well as certain games like World of Warcraft when they introduce Pandora. They would add this little feature to it and I was like hey they just did a flipping the table and it was really quick that they did that which I loved it.

BABYMETAL itself is an iceberg that is fascinating to discover or how THE ONE (fanbase) would call the “Fox Hole” Also BABYMETAL, in the last few years, has also been the bridge that has introduced a lot of people to the Japanese metal scene. Like I got introduced to bands like LOVEBITES, BAND-MAID, HANABIE, etc. Japans twists on metal has been the most refreshing thing that’s happened to metal. FYI: BABYMETAL pioneered a new genre of Metal called “Kawaii Metal” or “Cute” metal, which is a fusion of Jpop Idol Pop and Heavy metal. If you wanna hop back into BABYMETAL, please check out Road of Resistance Live in Japan. Their live performances are out of this world and 10x better than studio versions of their music.

Differently not heavy metal music!🤣 Differently not pure Raw American heavy metal Metallica or guns and 🌹roses!👍🏽🤟The old 1980s - 1890s the old band their name is X Japan is the most remembering an the most impressive pure talented heavy metal music performance skills from Japan.🇯🇵 The only four babymetal songs I true love to hear, many people around the world love these songs to! My great information for today. Have a great fabulous wonderful day.😀😊

You need to check out bands like XJapan, Band Maid, Wagakki Band's Ikusa, Yousei Teikoku, Love Bites. Wagakki Band's Beni Ninagawa is killer on the shamisen. Great music. Even the horror director John Carpenter wants to collaborate with them! Metalsucks article JANUARY 29TH, 2021

Welcome to the fox hole! You definitely are in for a long fun and wild ride! If you liked this song you should definitely check out some of their older stuff! I would highly recommend checking out and reacting to “Karate”, they have a MV for it too with one of their original founding members YuiMetal before she left back in 2018. Definitely a top on my list for sure! Have fun! 🔥🤘🦊🤘

BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. Here you have some references (there is MUCH more) * Lovebites (this is heavy metal in English, all female,, super talented) * Nemophila (this is metal/rock/you name it, all female, very good) * BAND-MAID (This is rock, all female) * Ningen Isu (This is rock, three old guys, active since the 1980-ies, rocks hard) * Hanabie (This is dynamite! Definitely metal and definitely Japanese and definitely weird) * Maximum the Hormone (Weird, I do not know what to call it)
