So do you have one with brighter red settings? 5 lumens seems a bit dim. Just for tying your shoes and reading a book. I want red for a jog at night.

Another great video Martin. I'm not trying to be nasty or even a sting in the tail but I'd consider myself a fairly experienced outdoors person. I'd never consider walking off aer mountain at nite unless my tent ripped or flew away and sometimes too much light can be a negative it can be like driving when it's snowing with full beam on. You know I love the channel Martin just a few thoughts I had while watching.

Hey Paddy Sir. Please always feel free to share your thoughts. Its how we all learn isn't it 🙂 Yes hiking off the mountain with a full pack in bad weather is always a risk. I had to do it twice and this is where I felt safe when I'm confident in my equipment. I also love night hiking so good equipment is vital. I 100% agree that too much light "sometimes" can actually be a negative. You can see that in thick fog. Its actually worse having more light. Even in very strong wind and rain a strong beam can reflect back and impair your vision. The flood light setting is best for that and luckily most head torches have multiple settings. Hi if the headlight is not in use do you need to remove the battries.

Hi.. there is a cable on the side you can unplug.bor unscrew the battery compartment. It saves the battery from discharging.
