Whoops, 'beta decay converts protons into neutrons and vice-versa' Errr... In the historical context and with the elements being discussed beta decay converts neutrons into protons. There are a few artificial radio-isotopes which decay by positron emission, which really does convert protons into neutrons. Since the majority of beta-decays convert neutrons into protons it's better to say 'beta decay converts neutrons into protons and vice-versa'

You're missing the point of the sentence I think. Beta plus decay and beta minus decay are both forms of beta decay, and both were not known to be conversions of protons to neutrons and vice versa at the time. Nothing more. The sentence has no contextual connection to the rest of the video, other than serving as a bridge to future discoveries, here referring to beta decay in general. I don't need to sort the beta decays by rarity.
