How it FEELS to Play Heavy in TF2

Hey so just to clarify the ending of this video: I grew up on casual TF2 and love it to death. In fact, I used to make a point of not playing competitive TF2 for the longest time. But when a friend enlisted me in his "lets-just-have-fun" competitive team, it really gave me a new perspective on what the classes in TF2 have to offer. I talked with Uncle Dane, and we both agreed that now is an excellent time to try out TF2's official competitive mode. The success of this mode will contribute to the game's longevity, and hopefully it will give you a new way to love TF2 just like it did for me. Take it slow and learn to love the losses; we all start somewhere! As always, thanks for watching

Having played heavy for over 131 hours, I have to say, the intro really was a saddening masterpiece. It just hurts so much when your medic dies, like you're in actual war and your friend or smth dies man

So true on the spy paranoia as heavy. I remember a few years ago I was in a casual match on one of the Halloween payload maps, just tearing apart the other team. I'm already pretty spy paranoid as heavy, but they happened to have four spies because... you know... casual. I was constantly turning around and checking my back. If I wasn't actively shooting at an enemy, I was watching out for spies and spychecking teammates. One of the four spies got salty and accused me of cheating because "the heavy keeps turning every time I try to approach him, he's using wallhacks or something." Very seldom did any of them actually wait for me to be distracted by one of their teammates though, the thing that gets a whole segment in "How it FEELS to Play Spy". They just kept throwing themselves at me thinking I wouldn't be hyper aware when a third of their team is trying to backstab me. This is a really long comment on an old video, but whatever, just sharing a fond memory cause it still makes me laugh.

wow, you think you've been hunted, wanted, attempts on your life? guess what, I had to deal with 3 spies, at once, and hold my entire team together, we were getting pushed back on Upward, and the enemy team had 3 spies, and I was trying to tank my gun, but then it went down, and then I built a new one, and tanked that one, and then 3 spies came at me, I had to shoot one with a bolt, and then got him with a random crit, and then 2 spies came, and they jumped me, and I crouched, unsapped my gun, which then got destroyed, and then whipped around, hit one spy with 2 bolts, and hit him with my jag, and then sidestepped the first matador the spy did, shoot a bolt, and then hit him twice, but then the 1st spy came, and then 2 crit pills landed at my feet, so I had to jump, and then rebuilt my gun, and then nearly got it up, until the spy from before killed me I had 230 hours, and this happened in the span of 8 seconds

Spy's are a nightmare to Heavy as his slow speed and their unpredictably with an attack that ingores his healthbar is dangerous. With Medic Scouts kinda like Spy just better, actually thinking about it Both spy and scout are really similar in their objective in flanking, with a differnet way of doing it. A like father and like son. Anyway to Medic's specifically Scout likes a wolf or Fox qucik on his feet and kill you in seconds and if the match isn't favorable he can use his speed to also defensilevly leave before coming back. More than likely killing you beofere the enemy has a chance to counter it. Sniper counters both due to how much they rely on eachother, so ofcourse killing one ruins it mainly heavy. ITs really good way presenting the competive version.

I had a game today where I was busting a sentry nest as heavy. Medic healing me walked through me to soak up damage so I could finish a large nest. I forget his name, but for medics who sacrifice themselves for who you're healing, you are the MVP. You lead the game in actual team play.

Yep, in the Naked and the Dead storyline, basically TFC Heavy gets a hold of a life-extender machine and shoves it inside himself, then kills TF2 Medic. Heavy gets super duper EXTRA pissed and brutally rips apart TFC Heavy, killing him by finally tearing the machine outta him. There are no words to describe the sheer rage and brutality Heavy displayed in those moments.

heavy is honestly one of the most perfect classes designed for a starter player... healthpool is forgiving, sandwiches are really cool, the medics are naturally drawn towards you, and the naturally slow playstyle really lends itself to teaching you about your own positioning on maps, and where enemy players are mostly likely to position themselves (especially spys and snipers 😂)
