@LTPRD-id3ch3 жыл бұрын
Fun fact. Those sugar percentages you showed is only representing the added sugars. That bottle is actually 292%. I know this because they intentionally don't label the total sugar content to lie to you about how much sugar you actually intake. I know this because products exist that don't tell you the sugar contents exactly. a product that had 53g total sugar but 0g of added for a total of 0%, which means that it only counts added sugars not total meaning the total doesn't represent that added sugar, they are separate entities and noone talks about it.
@averagecarguy4203 жыл бұрын
Well soda is mostly water so the added sugar is pretty close to the total sugar. Something like fruit juice though has a bunch of natural sugar so the added sugar is nowhere near the total sugar.
@LTPRD-id3ch3 жыл бұрын
@@averagecarguy420 that still means that It has a misleading feel to it. And I find that unfortunate. Correct fruit juice has more natural sugar in it. But my point was focused around how they decided to only show added sugars instead of the the absolute total and used the added sugar as a way to demonstrate how they are considered separate.
@laaaaviuwu3 жыл бұрын
this isnt entirely true, as the carbs is not double the grams of sugar.

@@laaaaviuwu I'm not following. I'm not specifically referring to carbs. Are you talking about how sugar is a type of simple carb so they count it towards carb total?

Labels rarely exclude total sugars. Like the one in the video, it shows total sugars, then added sugars. If you want sugar labeling to be better, they should replace the added sugars section with types of sugars (glucose, fructose, etc), as that is more important.
@ameliabrittain1582 жыл бұрын
My favorite part of these is the 1% that is actually factual, especially when the sentence starts out with something that seems like it could true, only to descend into absurdity in just a few words. @@alexsiemers7898 wh- huh? scientific experimentation exists to prove things like that and test whether or not they are true. The experiment was to test how addictive sugar is, not if it is at all. And what's important to note here is that _it is more addictive than cocaine_
