The Death Reaper Official Well I've done no research so I don't know if it would taste like a beef/pork crossover but thinking about it logically my brain figured it probably would. But who knows, could be way out. I also think each human would taste vastly different from another based on their health and mindset during their death. Like a more extreme way of how this is the case with farmed livestock because of the variety in humans and the ways they could be illegally killed for the cannibal to consume them. Definitely thinking about this too much. lol

Black pudding is not the same when put in a nylon casing, they really should be put into a pigs intestine. After that they should be cooked in water then taken out and left to dry, the drying hardens the casing slightly and the blood congeals giving it the black colour. Its more natural that way and goes with the whole ethos of using every part of the animal.

Oh, I've never heard of that! Swedish blodpudding has, I think, less additived than black pudding (or at least less spices, though I won't swear on it). However, it still contains a huge amount of flour in order to bind the blood together to a solid shape. How would you roast blood without binding it? Maybe it's because it's late but I can only imagine it as trying to fry milk - wouldn't it just loose a lot of vapour and then turn into a burnt coating on the pan?
@mamasita73510 жыл бұрын

In Yorkshire we don't have oats in it unlike Ireland and west Scotland, but we have large pieces of pork fat instead. How do you make it in Germany?
@CologneCarter10 жыл бұрын
***** There are different varieties. One is with blood and small chunks of pork fat, no wheat, barley or oats. It is available smoked (black sausage) or simply cooked. The latter probably is the most common throughout Germany, Oh almost forgot, there is a blood sausage without any ingedients, that stand out, as visible. It just looks like cooked and seasoned blood. Then there is "Grützwurst" - no translation, as there isn't a single phrase. It could mean different sausages, since we do three varieties, Blood, liver and cooked ground meat. But in this case I mean a sausages with blood. Grützwurst is blood, spices and one of the following: wheat, barley or oats cooked together without chunks of at, meat or any other pieces of whatsoever. Then there is "Rotwurst" literally translated to red sausage and also no wheat, barley or oats. Apart from small chunks of pork fat it contains chunks of cooked ham. Then there is "Zungenwurst" translated to tongue sausage and also no wheat, barley or oats. It is similar to "Rotwurst" but instead of ham there are large chunks of pig tongue and larger in diameter. Then there is "Panhas" in the US known as scrapple. There are different varieties according to region of origin. Some with, some without, wheat, barley or oats. It's available in blocks and one orders slices that are pan fried at home and served hot, unlike the other varieties. There are people who pan fry simple blood sausage, but it is rare and getting rarer. I myself like pan fried "Panhas", but wouldn't fry any other kind. And I am pretty sure, I forgot some regional variety or other. Anyway most don't contain any grain (? right term here?) I gave you the German names to help you google for pictures for a better understanding.

It's really delicious! But (at least for me) you can't eat it alone. Grab a good beer, cook the black pudding and pour some olive oil on it. Cheers!

Black pudding is lovely! It's a real waste not want not food, plus it tastes divine. If you tell your kid it's a special sausage, and not 'made out of blood' they'll tell you how much they love it before they know what's even in it. Sausages and burgers are the ones that can contain allsorts of crap from cockerel combs to eyelids to lips, but black pudding is just blood and other natural ingredients, I know what I' rather eat lol.

so here's the black pudding experience of an ex muslim: so the first time I tried it, I didn't know it's made of blood and especially pig's blood, I was disgusted by it, but then I remembered I actually liked it and now two slices of it are on my daily breakfast plate ;) I know I'm going to hell :D

Do you eat at mc donalds... do you eat food at the grocery store... I can go on and on... ALOT of the foods that we eat come from methods OR things that we would naturally think are disgusting but most of the time, we dont know exactly how its made, what they put in it (even tho they put the ingredients on the label) and we enjoy it. Disgusting is just like a mind game... you like it until you hear things that YOU personally would think is disgusting then you dislike it... but you already liked it... what changed... nothing.... aka mind games. Just like ppl think its disgusting that ppl who handle their food without gloves even after washing and sanitizing their hands but yet themselves eat in the car (which you have already so many germs on your hands from the car, door handle, money handling, etc) Also that same applies to ppl who themselves touch whatever stuff and eat without thinking... oh i didnt like that guy handling my food after sanitizing but im handling my food WITHOUT sanitizing.... Germs are germs no matter if its your germs or not. Im getting alittle sidetrack... my point is the word and thought of disgusting is purely a mind game and shouldnt be used to dictate anyone (even tho majority of the ppl DO let it dictate their life)

It's similar. Haggis is by mixing oats and barley with organ meat (lamb heart and liver), and cooked in a sausage skin (originally a sheep's stomach). Haggis is actually not Scottish, but invented by the Romans.

With black pudding, (southern English type anyway) It simply tastes of all the herbs/spices which are thrown in during the making. The only hint that it contains blood is a ever so slight iron aftertaste - hard to realise considering your tastebuds are also going "Oh my! is that thyme?" ect.
