I have had a TAB400 for about 2 years now-love it. Heater is very quiet. I have added glycol once.

We have a 2018 400 and love the Alde system. No noisy blower to go on and off. Easy to refill glycol. Takes time to warm up the rig but heat is then constant no real ups and downs like a blower system. Bathroom floor is heated aswell:)

FYI: Alde is great when it works! Big learning curve, lots of maintenance and owner confusion. Just check out all the instructions/youtubes trying to explain it.

Another thorough review. Any idea what the advertised R value is?
@DoesSizeMatter4 жыл бұрын
Good question but we have learned to stay away from those advertised 'R' values as they are not calculated by each manufacturer in a consistent manner that is comparable between rigs. Often manufacturers come up with 'R' ratings in the weirdest way or give values to products that may help with heating or cooling but don't really have an 'R' value themselves. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching.

Of all the Class B+ and C RVs you have reviewed, which ones do you think have the best construction?
@DoesSizeMatter4 жыл бұрын
We have only done 1 C so it is hard to compare. Of the the B+s we have to admit we love the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder and Unity. Remember just our opinion. Thanks for watching.

Do you need to reseal the seams every year to prevent leaks?
@DoesSizeMatter3 жыл бұрын
Ideally no, but seams are something you would want to check frequently no matter what RV you have and to protect them when the RV is not in use you should keep it under cover of some sort out of the weather including sun. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

Is this a 4 seasons camper? Meaning, are the water tanks insulated or exposed to element?
@DoesSizeMatter4 жыл бұрын
We would say no just because we believe the tanks may be heated but as we show in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6TQYZmeg8-GmK8 the tanks are still exposed to the air through some openings in the frame where heat can escape from. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

No, the tanks under the trailer are not heated. That said, some owners have added heat systems to the tanks, to extend camping season. But in cold winter areas, the tanks need to be drained and the unit winterized. Cheers

This is T@B 400 “Solo” Boondock. More common is the T@B 400 Boondock that has a bit of a different flor plan where there is a dedicated queen bed in the rear of the trailer. And the kitchen is basically the same where the sink and stove are located but the refrigerator has a couple of different configurations/options. The Alde heating system not only heats the trailer but heats the hot water too. And there is a cool cat air conditioner unit under the front seat on the passenger side.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We did cover the Alde system heating uses and the air conditioner location in the video and you can see the review of the solo floor plan here kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6TQYZmeg8-GmK8 and stay tuned as the other floor plan will be out soon. Hope that helps you out. Thanks for watching

What you showed under the center bunk area is not part of the Alde, that is the Air8 A/C unit, The Alde is strictly a glycol radiator heating system and hot water boiler. While it may look complicated, it is actual very simple. Glycol is heated in the boiler, which can be electric from the mains or propane fired, or a combo of both if main power is available. The heated glycol is then circulated around the trailer to the radiator heating units in the back (under the rear part of the bunk) to the galley (under the counter) to the front (under the box panel between the dinette seats, and to the washroom, then back to to boiler. Hot water is heated in the same boiler, and it heated by the glycol in the Flo (red) tank. The 2020 TaB400 had the Air8, whilst the 2018, 2019 and the new 2021 all have the CoolCat A/C under the dinette seat. Cheers

@@alholston-smith7631 Thanks for sharing your info on the Air8 system. We have heard nuCamp has moved it out of there as again we thought it was too much for this little trailer. We did explain the alde glycol system as the hot water and heating system. As we said, we do have experience with this type of system and can agree that it works well but we still maintain that it is waaay too much system for this small of a trailer. In our opinion, it takes up too much space, is more complicated and we believe it is too costly for such a small trailer. Thanks for watching.

@@DoesSizeMatter the older models are the best with respect to the Alde. Sliders and a dial for heat. Nothing complicated about it. The heat is on or the heat and hot water are on. I have added glycol once, half a gallon, in 5 years. Efficient, safe, silent, radiant heat. 2016 CS-S.
