i have over 2000 hours on factorio and have played through seablock and Space Exploration, so cascading failures is nothing new to me and I can usually push through them. My first cascade on Gleba was worse than anything I'd ever faced before and I was half tempted to tear it all down and start over. I ended up shipping materials for a 1.1gw nuclear reactor but it took forever do to rocket capacities and is the sole reason my Nauvis base now has a dozen silos, up from 4, to launch cargo into space.

Checking the wiki, it looks like the asteroid chunks have a stack size of 1 and the eggs stack to 100, probably to discourage that. Otherwise I'd agree, much easier to bring non-perishable resources to the perishable resources than the other way around.
