I attended a taping of his Late Late show in 2019. He not only completely ignored the live audience, but gave a very clear non-verbal message that he did not appreciate them being there. The warm-up guy even apologized to us for it. And whenever Corden was off camera, he was clearly in a foul mood and numerous times seen talking angrily to staff members and scowling at others. That experience turned me off big-time and I have watched nothing of him except a couple clips of Car Pool Karaoke since.

@@tiahenry4743 No. Initially ellen was _funny_ a little bit, or at least had special and shows that people appreciated. Mainly old white women or women in general. Kinda like Wendy Williams. Theres a specific demographic that watches daytime tv. He just was forced on us. Nobody watched him. Nobody tuned in for James Cordon. I never met anyone that liked him or his content, on the other hand, ellen in facebooks prime was everywhere. I even remember sophia and the other girl that met nicki minaj on there etc. Being on an Ellen was a "Brag" to artists and celebrities. Nobody brags about being on his show. Actually he needs the stars to show up, otherwise nobody would watch. Which isn't the case for the view or ellen or wendy when it was on etc. The celebrity needed them. Like Fallon, or Kimmel. To promote projects and albums. James needs everyones fans. Not the other way around. Nobody needs the 5 fans cordon may have. So no comparison here. My favorite part of the whole "Cats" situation was that he had the nerve to go on stage at the freaking Oscars presenting the VFX category and blaming the VFX artists for how horrible the movie was. Imagine thousand of people complying to your art direction requests, only to be thrown under the bus one of the very few moments where they are celebrated..

honestly VFX has been carrying hollywood, they should strike for a season and see how many projects are halted and how barren they look.
@Squirrel_Cat2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was for sure one of the worst moments. As a fan of the Corridor Crew, who do a ton of VFX related videos with just their small crew, I was dismayed to listen him villainize the VFX artists and animators due to the director's poor creative leadership and the clash of interests. Those were the director's problems, not the artists' faults and he had no right to lay the blame at their feet. Could the Cats movie have been better? Sure! Was it just the VFX effects that made the movie as bad as it was? Nope. Anyone with half a brain would know that.

I think the Weinstein scandal had a lot to do with stuff like this surfacing. The magic veil of Hollywood elites was destroyed when that story dropped. People were not only completely discusted with the entire industry, but lower level industry personnel finally had the courage and public support to start speaking out about some of these celebrities created highly toxic and inappropriate work environments. When before it was just protocol to keep quiet and brush it under the rug. They lost their "I'm famous status" excuse to verbally abuse and disrespect their staff. And no big surprise fans and viewers dont respond kindly when they hear about that kind of stuff. The whole wienstein thing just created a massive train reaction in Hollywood that went far beyond the metoo movement.

I've tried to put my finger on what exactly I've never liked about him, and I think it can be narrowed down to how insincere he comes across in everything he does. Whether playing a role or appearing as himself, he overcompensates what's required to the point of embarrassment, so its almost like parody. For an actor that's fatal, and for a TV personality it makes him very unlikeable. He just seems like he's placating or mocking his audience, because they actually have chosen to watch him. I get the feeling he was caught stealing sweets as a kid, wormed his way out of it with a bit of insincere it wasn’t me guv acting. And while sniggering at the stupidity of the person believing him, thought I could make a career out of this. Add on his reported bullying and the visible signs of this when the mask has slipped, and there's no reason to watch him. I don’t blame people making petitions to keep him out of things, his casting only adds a charisma vacuum.

If he thinks someone is above him on the social ladder (big celeb), he's the most brown-nosing, sycophantic, person there is. But to anyone he considers below him, he treats them like pure dirt. Normally on a TV studio set, the presenters will get to know the crew and become friends with them over the course of a a series. Not James. He'd refer to camera operators by numbers instead of their names, would bark orders at runners, and just generally be a horrible person to everyone he came across. In my career, I was lucky enough to meet many A-list movie and music stars, and most of them were actually very nice and friendly people to talk to. Not James. Story time: I knew a British comedy writer who has worked on some bigger projects. One time a car was sent to pick him up in London for some showbiz thing. He was chatting up his driver and asked him, "So have you ever driven anyone famous?" and the driver kind of laughed nervously and said yes, and the writer could see he was kind of uncomfortable. He pressed a little more and the driver said the famous person they picked up wasn't great. The writer just had a hunch and flat-out asked him, "...was it James Corden?" and the driver nodded yes. Apparently the driver said one time he was sent to pick up James Corden, and James asked the driver to stop and get some sandwiches on the way to where they were going. The driver agreed but mentioned that he just had his car cleaned and requested James be careful. James said okay, and was quiet for the rest of the ride after getting the food. After dropping him off, the driver went to the back where James had been sitting and saw the entire interior absolutely smeared with mayonnaise, bread and gunk smashed into the seats and ground into the carpet with his shoes. It probably took this man a few hours and significant money to clean. All because the driver asked James to please eat carefully. What a petty little man who lives to bully others because he was once bullied. POS deserves to be shunned

What aggravates a lot of people, I think, is the way his career was forced on people. It wasn't like audiences thought, "Hey, this guy's really good, and we like him. " It was more the studios saying to the audience, "Hey! This guy is really good! And you are going to like him!" and then started shoving him into our faces until we just couldn't stand the sight of him anymore. Then you get to really see the nasty, repugnant side of his personality. His entitlement, his immaturity, his arrogance. But the killer for me was his response to the Mark Kermode review of the (F#ng god-awful) Peter Rabbit movie, where Corden thought the best way to make himself seem tough and cool, was to have his Mummy and Daddy write a letter saying what a wonderful boy their precious little James was.

Just about the carpool karaoke thing.. there's laws against acting and driving. Basically, if a camera is rolling for commercial use (production money-making), you can't do anything except drive. No reading lines, no pretending to look off in the distance, no singing, nothing. Pretty much every car scene you've ever seen has been pulled on a trailer (or driven by a non-performing stuntman) since those laws have been enacted. The shocking part to me was when he said he had been actually driving in any of them.

I worked with a guy who did a sideline of work as a James Corden double - he is literally the spitting image of the man and weirdly also called James. He’s done a lot of work on adverts where Cordon will do a couple of closeups and he basically appears in the rest - all of what you said about his arrogance and rudeness is spot on from what he told me Corden was like. He would turn up to shoots, barely interact with anyone - didn’t want to be talked to unless necessary and then would be gone ASAP. The strange thing is - this kind of behaviour doesn’t make him an outlier. There are other celebs that are similar, but I think the disappointment that he isn’t the jolly fat guy you think he is somehow makes it worse. Fair point. It's all fake. But the whole point of that bit was that he was actually supposed driving. If they had've shown the trailer he was being hauled on as part of the joke then yeah it would have been fine. But they never did, so they may as well have been in a studio with a green screen. The public reaction to finding out he was just being towed around on a trailer kind of tells you that it was deceptive, otherwise nobody would've cared.
@JillCheese2 жыл бұрын
@@rokeYouuer Yep. I halfway agree with Corden. If people ACTUALLY watch multiple Carpool Karaoke vids, there's at least 1 or 2 shots where the car is in full view with him and the guest in it. The Jennifer Hudson one, for example, shows them pulling up to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and even a fast food place. The Usher one has the same walk of fame shot. The Cardi B one. I can go on, but I do think he shouldn't have said 95% of the vids. I think it's less than that, and he's probably not driving for the ENTIRETY of each vid. Just kind of amazing how extreme these sides are while both will say the other does no research. Anybody who actually watched those vids can see that there's almost always full shots of him driving the entire car. I can't stand Corden, but good grief I can't stand when people don't have a true reason not to like someone or to call someone else stupid.

They looked on in mild horror as they saw the attendant direct her into an empty seat next to... James Corden. Expecting a huge celebrity hissy fit to kick off. Corden's cabin- mates were impressed to see that he didn't say a word or make any sort of complaint. He simply put on a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, pulled an eyemask over his eyes, and turned away from her to sleep. Pretty decent of him, right? When the plane landed though, passengers were surprised to see Corden remain seated as the woman with the baby struggled to open the overhead locker. And even more surprised when she turned to Corden and said "For fuck's sake can you at least hold the baby while I get the bags down?" The woman was his wife. The baby was his baby.
