There is no doubt in my mind Steven Buchanan had every intention of murdering that girl. The dude had a kill kit, tried everything he could to get her out of the house. Some consider such infamy to be part of the punishment, while others consider it a lighter punishment than these guys deserve. There are a couple things to consider though: 1. TCAP stings often bungle things since they're not cops so their evidence cant always be used. Sometimes the only usable things are admissions by the perv. 2. TCAP often screw things up and have been caught repeatedly doing entrapment. There's been a few times the pervs go free because the "child" will actively try to lure men in, even leading them on rather than acting neutrally. I saw one case where the "bait" was borderline aggressive in pursuing a guy constantly offering to date him, send him pics, etc. 3. Sometimes they cant find much if anything that's actually criminal they can prove. Sometimes the pervs never meet with or get illegal pics from minors so the lengthy prison sentences like possession of child porn, molestation, or rape cant be applied so the pervs get lesser sentences like luring a minor or child endangerment. It's possible, sometimes even likely, that their appearance on TCAP wasnt their first time going on a date with a minor but its about what can be proven and since TCAP arent cops it can mean evidence being inadmissible. I heard about one case where TCAP caught a guy but due to mishandling things a search warrant wasnt able to be issued which allowed the perv time to purge his computer. Also depending on the crime, depending on the jurisditction and local laws, and depending on the individual and how likely they are to reoffend and their ties to the community they may end up getting reduced sentences for good behavior or having part of their sentence converted to probation, which is all more likely to happen if TCAP mishandles things since that means lesser charges and less evidence that judges and parole boards can use against the perv.

TCAP just had a good relationship with the legal system in Connecticut. They stuck with a few states because they had to make sure that the charges stuck and that they weren’t spoiling ongoing investigations. If they just went to random places without coordinating with law enforcement first, most of the evidence gathered would be inadmissible. Then the predators would simply skip town and do a better job covering their tracks next time.

The majority of the shows were done in Connecticut because the Keith Hansen and many of his production staff were from there, and they all worked out of NBC headquarters in New York City. Besides Connecticut they did many shows in Georgia, Florida, Ohio, and a few other places.

That's because people are too cowardly to put themselves in their position in order to empathize. The entire point of prison is rehabilitation, which becomes utterly impossible under these vigilante, social justice environments. There's a reason why the field of psychology is struggling to get people to stop harassing these individuals because it actually makes their likeliness of continuing down a path of criminal behavior far more likely as this video pointed out quite well. If your entire life is defined by a mistake and the entire world see's you as this monster, you essentially have no incentive not to be. If people already see you as a child predator, no matter what you do, why would anyone try not to be? That's what makes rehabiliation impossible, not the lack of willingness, but the permanent social harassment that follows. The social retailiation for people who (by the way never actually ruined anyone's life and likely wouldn't have because they all happened to be pursuing overtly willing and eager individuals, which aren't exactly things you find in the real world) made these mistakes, is over shadowed by the massive retribution they face from the public, who's lives seem to revolve around trying to make these individuals pay for their entire life for their moral outrage. So what you end up having, are psychopaths, trying to enforce their brand of social justice onto people they considered to be sub-human. Which is why the irony remains in prison, where serial murderers are more respected than child predators, which is precisely what drives the fear of getting caught that leads predators down the road of committing murder to hide their crime...so, to clarify, this vigilantism, this public outrage, is incentivizing a predator to murder their victim to avoid getting caught, because they might as well because their position is already lower than that of a murderer. What people don't understand about these videos...is that the one's they caught...are the stupid ones. The one's nieve and delusional enough to think that they, in their grotesque appearances would be lucky enough to find a sexually liberated underaged person CONSENTING to have sex with them. Do you know what level of stupidity that requires? Meanwhile, the one's that are far more frequent, are the normal johns and jerry's who have close proximity to children. The one's who have positions of authority and respect and trust...so you're basically finding worms, thinking you found the wolves and dangerous bears. Some of them, yah, they had nefarious intention, the guys with duck tape and weapons, but the average person on the show, not so much. I fail to see what kind of justice anyone can imagine comes from this level of harassment, justified or not, what other crime, including MURDER, would have such a reaction? None. How does that make sense? but it always stems from the same thing, the cowardice to fail to see yourself in these individuals because you cant handle the very thought of having sex with a consenting underaged person (scary). The very thought of relating to these people terrifies everyone because they don't want to see those people in themselves. Rightly so. But the term "you protest too much" comes to mind. The more extreme the response to these instances, suggests projection. If I can go out and violently murder random people and be treated more humanely, that is a striking judgment on the moral attitude of our times. Times, by the way, which are increasingly sexualizing children... No one in these obsessive fandoms have the moral high ground. They're the same exact types of people who would otherwise be engaging in this behavior. They are often projecting their own self hatred onto the predators, the same way we see how often preachers who are so anti-homosexual turn out to be closeted homosexuals. If being a predator is wrong, how does becoming one make the world better? It doesn't. It just ruins more lives. They got caught, but they were also pursuing consensual sex. All shows like this do, is incentivize even more violent behavior from predators who aren't so stupid. This is why psychotherapy for these individuals doesn't involve public shame but without overcoming that social outrage, there is no possible remedy. You guys, this show, the psychopathic vigilantes who's every day revolves around the delusion of justice, are literally causing the behavior to continue. It's this kind of outrage that stops public funding to go to these areas necessary to address sexual aberrations like this. Studies have shown that giving sexual offenders access to things like sex dolls decreases the rate of recommitting these offenses because it gives a healthy outlet for their sexual desires. The alternative, chemical castration doesn't get rid of the desire, just the sexual desire, which is often associated with emotional desire. It's like forbidding a heterosexual from having sex with the opposite sex by getting rid of their libido, but it doesn't do anything to get rid of their emotional desires. I fail to see society making any major improvements in this area. You guys are just creating more predators by obtaining a twisted entertainment value out of watching people with psychological problems manifest them before your very eyes. Do any of these guys seem like they are having perfect lives to you? No. Why does anyone think making them worse is going to improve their behavior...? They were a child predator BEFORE they had their life ruined, what do you think they become after? The one guy who became homeless for example, does that make you feel safer? This guy now has nothing left to lose. Nothing to fear about that.

@@CircmcisionIsChi1dAbus3 bro I'm sorry. But why did you write so much On KZbin? I'm genuinely asking ? Are you just a passionate writer or something?
@CircmcisionIsChi1dAbus3 Жыл бұрын
@@Coolranchfrito Short answer, yes. Psychology. Psychoanalytics, behavioral biology. Great combinations for understanding the complexity of human behavior. Long answer: I guess it's stupid isn't it? Trying to have an adult discussion in a place where people only come to be emotionally outraged. People barely scratch the surface, and I just wanted to show them how nuanced the conversation gets. Morality is no black and white concept and human behavior is complex, but no one takes the time, failing to see their own reacting contributing to the thing they hate so much. What if I told you, that all this social outrage was causing more children to be victims of predators? Would you be less angry or more ashamed? It reminds me of how humanity used to cut off the hands of thieves, that used to be justice. Isn't that odd? There are proven studies that show decrease rates of child abusive behavior among SO's but they can never be implemented because of social outrage, no funding. The irony. The hate just repeats the cycle. Eye for an eye, you ruin a life, I ruin your life, all we end up with is ruined lives. I can present to you plenty of examples of instances where punishing such behavior would be completely immoral. But no one is brave enough to have those conversations. They're filled with nausea. Negative emotion. That's why we leave these topics to the professionals yet the professionals are subject to the population for funding. Isn't that ironic. "I have this fire extinguisher, let me put out this fire!" "No! We only use GASOLINE! We won't fund your extinguisher that glorifies fire normalcy! Having a fire extinguisher around just emboldens the fire even more!" That's the essential conversation around SO's in psychotherapy. I just find it ironic that society treats serial killers with higher regard than these individuals. Dahmer, brutally murders and eats his victims and has hordes of fan girls asking to marry him. Guy has a 14 year old teenage boy begging him for sex and his life is ruined more than the guy who kills several people, drills into their head, and puts acid in their brain...weird. Violence, just shrug it off, become hyper obsessed with it, tones of documentaries, make their name known across the world. But SEXUAL crimes....now THAT'S evil. I mean, you decide, would you rather be harmed and alive or dead? If the answer is alive, we should probably stop punishing the living and allow them to learn because the rates of SO's isn't going down so clearly its not working very well. We have SO lists, but a person can murder someone and no one would know about it. Isn't that funny. You will know when a sexual criminal is in your neighborhood, but wouldn't know the murderer....and we all sleep soundly.

People in the LGBT, people in your schools, neighborhood, workplace, church… They’re a plague and yes they are all bad since they have serious mental issues that negatively affect others. This isn’t a case of a screw being loose, predators are a case of wires being completely frayed and destroyed beyond repair. Once these people cross the line of attempting to commit, actually committing, or legitimately planning to commit a sex crime against children, they’re done and shouldn’t be allowed back in society because they’ll never change. Countless predators have proven that by reoffending again and again whenever they get a chance. And the ones who don’t reoffend are only scared of getting caught again. Zero doubt in my mind that their minds still fill with sick thoughts of children. Pedophiles are a disease that can infect any person of any group in the world.
