I think a lot of us have gotten degrees and never were able to work in the fields of our degrees. I was one of those people. I am very happy things worked out for you. You have been a great addition to the show.

I love this! Kindred landscape designer who gets right in there and does the work! I remember in landscape design school at the NY Botanical garden our instructor tried to hammer home the idea that we aren't gardening, we are designing! But the gardeners in the class (including me!) just didn't quite buy that! lol. I love seeing Jenn both gardening and designing. If you don't know your plants, you can't design effectively. The reason I became a landscape designer was because of one time that my husband and I hired a designer who wasn't a gardener and this person had their crew plant a garden that was all deer food. It was a disaster that was beautiful for a week. Ecosystems are just as important to know as shape and color, and using a triangle.

What did you think about the NYBG program? Worth it? Did it help you get hired?

I love having Jenn on your team - I know there are plenty of women in the trades who'd be an asset to TOH. What about a few localized versions, like landscaping specials for the different zones. I'm out in CA and while it's great to see what you guys do mainly in the northeast, it would be cool to have something out here with the same quality.

They've been in almost every state, if not every, creating landscapes with local plants, materials, and contractors. That's of course, over however many years during the course of the series.

I’ve been soul searching after military life. Been working on real estate license but then got super into plants and redoing my own landscape design, and now I’m wondering if I should just… do this…

Got a question to ask Jenn. Three years ago I topped out my sugar Maple tree in the front yard. We did it in February. I know, that's a bad time. The sap was just pouring out of the cut ends. Even freezing with sap icicles icicles hanging on the limbs. Now I have limbs dieing off and the upper main is dieing with white fungus on it and other limbs. My question is, can I cut all the dead stuff off? Do you think it could survive?

Jenn, could you try a little make-up? Your segments are 15 minutes at most, it's not a complete home project.
