JK Rowling put her neck on the line - and brought down the Hate Crime Act. By challenging the police to arrest her for "misgendering", she set the precedent that it can't be used to arrest people for misgendering, and the SNP can't use it to lock up opponents of their gender ideology.
Also the most reported person under the Hate Crime Act is its creator, Humza Yousaf. Lol.

I'm not Scottish and I've never lived in Scotland but voters in Scotland may wish to begin doing something I've been doing for several decades now, namely, asking members of Congress and state legislatures to read every bill (proposed legislation) in its entirety before voting on it. I read the so-called Scottish Hate Crimes bill for myself before I ever started commenting on it.

I would urge EVERYONE in Scotland to submit a SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST (under The Freedom of Information Act) online to PoliceScotland to request details held about them, in particular with reference to NCHIs - Non-Crime Hate Incidents. PoliceScotland are obliged BY LAW to reply to such requests with the information requested (with a few limited exceptions re National Security, etc). This will ensure the police are kept busy and prevent boredom setting in.
