On June 5, 2011, John MacArthur completed a remarkable feat. He finished his 42-year journey of preaching through the New Testament verse-by-verse. What I like most about MacArthur is that when I hear him preach I don't feel like my intelligence is being insulted. He never talks down to his audience, but assumes in them a fairly high level of both knowledge of and interest in the Bible.

I own just about every book John MacArthur has written, about half the books Ligoneer Ministries has put out, more systematic theology and church history books than you could shake a stick at, Calvin's Institutes and multiple books commenting on it, plus multiple lexicons, grammars, Greek versions including the Textus Receptus. Additionally, I pretty much devoured every audio and video resource Grace to You has available; I fully embraced and subscribed to Calvinism until the scales fell and my eyes were opened. It's false. Apart from that, John MacArthur, John Piper, Francis Chan, et al., join ranks and fellowship at conferences and on panels with heretics like Rick Warren, Bill Johnson, et al. in violation of: [9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. [10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, *receive him not into your house* , *neither bid him God speed* : [11] *For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds* 2 John 1:9-11

[7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 Everyone left ARE unbelievers until some are saved during this time. At that point, there's *TWO* options: take the mark, which is connected to worship of the beast, or DON'T take the mark, being unable to buy or sell, and receive a death sentence. Re-read the entire books of Daniel and Revelation. It's absolutely clear that anyone who takes the mark is permanently damned, it's in plain English. IF you take the Mark, THEN you're thrown into the lake of fire. Only someone like Phil Johnson would attempt to run interference and maneuver out of something like that. Granted, people make mistakes, but why not just admit it and repent instead of attempting to change the bible and justify complete lunacy?

Paul Gross - Hi Paul. This is a serious claim you are making. Please substantiate your claim. We are saved through faith in Christ alone and not by our works (ourselves) so that no one may boast. Our good works would follow automatically after salvation through faith alone in Jesus our Savior. The true born again Christian is identified by his fruit and being a new creation in Christ. Old ways are something of the past. Jesus said: ‘If you love me you will obey my commands, Broad is the way that leads to destruction... ‘ Yes our sins are washed by the blood of Christ and as we become one of His born again children we automatically start walking the life of being sanctified every step of the way in our walk towards glorification one day. Paul Gross So basically what you are saying is a born again believer can willfully keep on sinning. People who confess to be Christians and say they have accepted Christ and keep living a worldly sinful life are false converts. Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commands. When you become a born again believer you still sin but when you sin you are immediately convicted by the Holy Spirit and through God’s Grace you come to repentance. As I understand you, a person can live a life of sin which include, adultery, fornication and continuing a gay life style and still enter heaven. Paul said to the church - As so some of you were (past tense) but now have been washed through the blood of Christ. You believe and repent. Repentance means to turn away from your old ways. If you do not want to turn from your old ways you are not truly saved. You need to pray to God and ask Him to save you. Pray night and day if need be. The day the Holy Spirit does the work in your life you’re eyes will be opened and you will understand what I am saying. Now you would understand what it means to become a new creation as at this time you start to hate sin with a passion as you want to automatically express your love for Christ and live a Holy life and obey your Savior. You then start to see the fruits of the Spirit in a saved persons life which include kindness, patients, meekness, self control etc. This is what I mean by automatically, A saved born again believer automatically shows fruit and believes with continued repentance.

I still remember the time I watched a sermon preached by John MacArthur for the first time years ago, at a friend’s place, and it was on the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15. I had never heard a sermon like that. With his handling of the context he really took me 2000 years ago to the very scene in which Jesus made the story, and the teaching became so powerful and meaningful to my life like never before. From that time on my view of the Word of God and preaching changed completely. I love knowing God better by studying his Word one verse at the time, and desire to, one day, preach it the same way. His Strange Fire conference opened my eyes and pulled me out of the Charismatic movement one year ago. I can't get enough of expository preaching. Praise God for faithful men like MacArthur!

When I first heard John Macarthur, I thought he was brash and arrogant, I was looking at all the preachers on you tube, checking out the NAR and how far the Charismatics have gone out side of Biblical Christianity, since the early 80's when I was saved. I thought like John Piper did when he first heard him. He seemed to come on strong and prideful until I actually gave him more than 5 min, if you are a true believer you have a desire for all things scriptural, and I found his preaching refreshing with a strong tone of seriousness, which is lacking in most tv preachers. I fell in love with the passion and focus on the Word of God. I still do I've listened to hundreds of hours of his expository preaching and love it. I see people sometimes try to say he is a false teacher. If that is someone's definition of false teaching boy are we in trouble. I saw a you tube title saying John MacArthur caught in a lie. Wow, really, you don't really know how to respond to that. So what if he has, if you followed me around I would be guilty of that just about every time I open my mouth. Any way I love the word of God and love how he handles it.

lbbailey1 Friend, I suppose the history of anyone should not be taught then. We can learn quite a bit about God's representative, because he introduces us to God. I suppose we should not read about the legacy of king David, or of Moses, let us forget the expositions of the apostle Paul. Stephen, who we only read one sermon from, so pricked the people's hearts they stoned him. He opened the Scripture to them and showed the people that the blood of Christ laid upon their hands. I may not agree with MacArthur in all points, but his message is consistent, and you don't see his back getting patted by very many politicians as you see with many television preachers.

He had hoped to finish it that morning, but he just could not cram all that knowledge into one sermon, so, unexpectedly, we all wound up having to come back that evening for the 6pm service for him to finish! I don’t think I have ever put my finger on why John MacArthur has been so influential to me; but it is because he preached the Word of God, uninterrupted by stories or cultural commentary. Wow. The Word of God is so unbelievably powerful.

I got saved in February of 2016 and some of the first sermons I listened to were John Macarthur's sermons. I'm returning to some of those sermons as I have started reading through the book of Romans, 4 verses a day. God bless this man.

Skeptics don't need proof: they need to hear the truth and believe it. The trouble is that Mr MacArthur does not preach the truth about salvation. Instead of publishing the truth (salvation is FREE), you throw your pearls of wisdom before the swine of a false gospel. Clean the falsehood from the inside of the cup, and then maybe fair minded people will be more willing to drink it. Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.

When God saved me in Germany in 2005 the first bible teacher He showed me on the internet was John F. MacArthur. I have so much profited from many of his books and his profound in-depth study of the Greek language to help me grow in faith I cannot tell. In today's controversies about him I still esteem him as my brother in Christ. No one can teach like this and reach your heart without the Holy Spirit dwelling inside. 🙏🙏

This is really great. You have very clearly summed up what I have observed in my 26 years at Grace Community Church. The bible is the living word of God. The preacher just needs to make you understand it. Pastor John didn't change my life, God's word did. All Pastor John did was tell me what is says, and what it means by what it says.

If you read the pastoral epistles - you will be able to see that John MacArthur took them to heart! John MacArthur said himself that only up to 80% of anyones ministry could be correct - and with that allowance for error and the naysayers and the false accusations - and satan roaring around like a lion seeking whom he can devour - etc..., it's rare to see such steadfastness in the world today! - John MacArthur strived to stay on the narrow path. He has one of the hardest jobs in the world! Please join us in thanking GOD if you would - for sending HIS TRUTH through faithful servants! A pastor/teacher sacrifices much to do the work of the LORD! Cora Schmucker I genuinely feel sorry for people like you. You have an agenda against a particular preacher because of a particular doctrine on which you disagree (typically having to do with eschatology or miraculous gifts). And instead of handling this disagreement in a Christlike way, you go out of your way (with the excessive amounts of time you must have on your hands) to go on a crusade against this particular preacher and leave obnoxious, foolish, and ignorant comments on videos of the particular preacher. I pray you would learn how to handle doctrinal disagreements in a God-honoring way (as I am also learning to do myself as I can be unfortunately stubborn at times) and that you find something much better to do with your time. Don’t dishonor this man. He has faithfully preached the word for over 50 years and he would be the first to give God all the glory.

I have been listening to MacArthur for 45 years. I am still buying his cassettes on Amazon.John did to choose to be a pastor. God threw him out of a car at 70 mph and his backside took terrible damage. He could not longer be a professional athlete. God shut the door. God called John to preach.

Absolutely love and respect John and I always will. Praise the Lord for raising such a faithful servant in those difficult times. I maybe will forget a lot about John MacArthur as I will age. But one thing I surely will always have deep in my heart. His childlike faith. Even after 53 years of unwavering ministry, John kept his childlike faith. Never tired, never bored, always focused, always zealous for Jesus Christ the Savior of men and His glorious Gospel. I pray that Lord will grant same childlike faith to the end to me and many many others.

John MacArthur's teachings have influenced and taught me so much it's difficult to put in words. I'm am grateful to God that in a time of seemingly utter madness, in the professing church, no less, he has his faithful ones carrying on. It's difficult to listen to empty-headed, Gospel-dismissive "sermons" after listening to such teachings as MacArthur's. I trust John will hear those coveted words from our Lord one day....

While I would have used the word "finished" to prevent those reading the title from having a heart attack, this was a very remarkable story of one of the very small group of modern day preachers with integrity and godliness. Making it through a career in preaching and being successful (not necessarily monetarily as much as spiritually) is near impossible in a world so under the control of the evil one that all you have to do is say what I just did and you will be classified as the "religious right" and a wingnut. I will never condemn those who fell prey to Satan's deceitfullness, but a man who can go as long as John MacArthur without falling to the devil's wiles, he is phenomenal and blessed by God abundantly. Yes, Tim I might be saying the same about you some day, but I think you will have a few more gray hairs on your head before I do. Preachers...keep on preachin'.

There were two preachers in 1987 that had an impact in my life. Pastor John MacArthur and Chuck Swindoll. Today, I do not adhere to “Calvinism” nor am I an evangelical, but Dr. MacArthur set the tone for me and now I am truly a follower of Christ. However it was not through a man...it was through The Ministry of The Holy Spirit....as for a book I would recommend from my John MacArthur collection, I would suggest The Vanishing Conscience....and as for the book I am reading tonight, I recommend Flying Closer to the Flame by Pastor Charles R. Swindoll...👍🏾

Kevin Barton the bible talks about teachers too. Reading on our own we can be mislead. Paul discipled many to teach the word. And many of his letters is are for the reproductive, edification, encouragement of the church. If we didn’t need teachers and we could teach ourselves then why were there teachers/preachers even back then?
