I don't know any other game (or at least, haven't played any other game) that is still fun despite being janky as shit. They're not really the type of bugs that will make you quit in frustration. That being said, and I hate to sound like I've been paid off by Todd here, but everything seen in this video is extremely rare (I've personally only gotten characters that will stand on chairs) and Joe is cursed.

@@DragonaxFilms This is true. It definitely applies to all airlocks - easiest with the big "tunnel" yellow airlock like from the opening of the game, but also the standard small "airlock" too. This one is more finnicky - either it only occurs intermittently, or it's weird: Potentially, if you're running in place before the animation starts, it retains "invisible wall-ness" throughout the animation, but if you only try to clip after the animation starts, it seems to work. There's an old bug in this engine where your weapon's model takes a while to load in once you swap to it, during which time you are unable to fire it. It looks as if they've made that bug even worse now, making it completely lock up your ability to fire permanently... Until you force yourself off your current character model by changing to a different (tied to gender) animation skeleton or something? Incredible. Edit: the quantum ship bug confirms it. The ship is made of multiple entities which are usually placed together but a bug places them at stupid locations relative to one another. Fast travel puts you in the ship's interior. Exiting the ship puts you outside the hatch, which is a one-sided model normally attached to the ship, but in this case he spawned at its bugged location a kilometer away. Fast travelling doesn't unload the ship so it's only possible to force the ship to unload and reload is by changing it, thus swapping out the model. These bugs are a byproduct of how the game loads and unloads, or doesn't, certain assets.

@SkullCrabz9 ай бұрын
@molassesman4066 without breaking down the game I don't know if this is correct. As a programmer, this was one of the funniest bits to me. It’s probably an artifact / pattern they got into from how all of their older games work. I shudder to think how many flags probably get set every time you transition from the overworld to a city, or a city to a building, in their games. Their loading screens / world instances were/are probably “load bearing” pieces of their engine, using the opportunity of loading a new instance to set a bunch of new flags that they assume can’t be changed unless you load out of that instance again.
@boredphysicist2 ай бұрын
@@bass-tones Its why they always defend the load screens as needed for performance, completely ignoring the fact other games solve these issues in clever ways to prevent 5 second load screens every time you do something mundane like access the inside of a hut. This is the ultimate way to experience the Starfield streams, these bugs were the best content daddy Todd could deliver onto us. My Razorleaf had the same bug as the Ship breaks again chapter. For me, it happened as I sat down in the pilot seat while it was sitting on the landing pad in New Atlantis. The ship rotated about 5 degrees to the left, but left that fake version behind that was clipping into the cockpit. Another issue with the Razorleaf happened when I was on the main quest where the Lodge is attacked. You can't fast travel at that point - you have to run back to your ship and manually enter. Unfortunately, my Razorleaf had sunk halfway into the ground, making it impossible to enter the loading bay - not that it mattered, since the whole door was underground. I managed to exit combat long enough to interact with the technician so I could swap my ship - so the Frontier was on the landing pad, but the Razorleaf was still stuck in the ground, keeping me from entering. When I swapped back to the Razorleaf, there were now two copies of the ship, each one impossible to access. Remember - it was impossible to fast travel at this point, so my game was completely locked. When I landed at New Atlantis, the trees around the fountain near the spaceport decided that they didn't like being there anymore. The trees were now off in the distance, floating high in the sky outside the city limits. This seems to be the same bug where the greebles that are supposed to be attached to buildings sometimes float above them. The upper portion of the Reliant Medical building in New Atlantis disappeared one time for me - I didn't think to look around, but it had probably traveled a kilometre away somewhere in the air. One time after trying to steal a ship that landed on a planet near me (I got a message about not being authorized to pilot the ship, so I left after interacting with the seat) space stopped loading. First, just one ship that tried to hail me didn't load. Then, space was empty - just a skybox. No ships, no asteroids, no planets. Since my ship didn't exist, I couldn't even turn my camera. I tried loading a save back on the ground, and the planet that I know was right in front of me over the horizon was gone. I had to load a save before entering that landed ship in order to keep playing. If you side with the Hunter, then defeat the Emissary with persuasion, the Hunter becomes permanently hostile. He also lives permanently on your ship until you enter New Game +. The gun polygons exploding when you exit the inventory happened all the time for me, was a fun jumpscare the first couple times.

@WhatDoesDStandFor10 ай бұрын
Who does he play?
@courier696010 ай бұрын
Oh my god, he’s in this game too? WHY IS BETHESDA STILL HIRING THIS MAN? He was a TERRIBLE casting decision in fallout 4 and everyone notoriously hated his acting and character, why would they bring him back?!? His voice acting was so bad in fallout 4, he had effectively zero experience voice acting, and they hired him to be a character that is simultaneously: the first human you meet in the post apocalypse, the character that gives you your first real quest and many more after that, your first human companion, and a major faction leader. All of those qualifications and important characteristics for this character and they gave his role to a nobody, with no experience, and the most wooden deliveries I have ever heard. No offense to the man himself, but he should NEVER have been hired in the first place. He was representative of a major blunder, why is Bethesda showing him off again like we want to see him?

Seriously, Starfield fans truly are insane. First day I played Starfield, feeling extremely underwhelmed at the game, I was so... confused seeing the high praise being sent its way. I remember reading a few comments talking about how they sneaked onto a ship that was about to fly up, and it totally actually got him into space on it. What the absolute fuck are these people on.

What's the point of insane graphics, a huge "galaxy" if there's nothing of substance to do or see.
@dashiellgillingham4579 Жыл бұрын
I’m also throughly whelmed by it. Frankly, it represents no significant improvement over Fallout 4 as a game. I tell people to just buy Skyrim if they want a Bethesda game, and Fallout 4 (with the built-in mod menu on console) if they really need a retro sci-fi fix.
@minoxs Жыл бұрын
@@dashiellgillingham4579 I'd call it a clear downgrade from fallout 4. Traversing the wasteland the first time around felt... oppressive. Even if the game wasn't super realistic, seeing an 8 foot dude run at you with a mini nuke leaves an impression y'know. In starfield... there isn't ANYWHERE meaningful to get lost in, accidentally find something cool. It's all procedural, but why?
@courier696010 ай бұрын
I’ve seen numerous comments, reviews, and posts of people saying the game has “great potential to improve” like wtf does that even mean, the game is out and THIS IS THE CORE EXPERIENCE, Bethesda can’t fix this no matter what they do because n order to do so they effectively would have to make an entirely different game. Sure they can bug fix all day but the game is still incredibly empty, repetitive, and boring… Mods won’t fix this either because people don’t even want to play the base experience, and modders only want to mod things they genuinely enjoy playing.
@MrLego316010 ай бұрын
if you're inside the ship interior cell, it can go to space with you in. this can fuck you in specific scenarios where the ship isnt powerful enough to leave the system you're in. until you realise you don't actually need a ship at all, you can just fast travel.

All civilians who are nearby feel an immense compulsion to run to the door and enter the building. Upon opening the door the civilians disappear, it is unknown where, and by what means they are transported. The first known instance of SCP-8365 occurred in New Atlantis on the planet Jemison, and affected the UC Distribution building. Upon appearance, every civilian within the spaceport immediately ran to the door and disappeared. Occupants of the building and everyone not named civilian was unaffected.

That bug about sinking into floor and then falling down reminded me of one of outer worlds bug where if you talked with someone while Npc's were climbing the ladder, they would continue their "climbing" animation and climbed outside of the ship. if they were going down and you went out of the convo, they would fall until they found tele floor that would retain their velocity and port them onto the ship and deal them a few thousand damage, essentially insta killing them.
