Kagurbachi is basically like the golden age of Western media but done through an eastern lense. (Cotinairy tale about weapons that are put in place isntead of nuclear powers, lone wolf main charcater who finds himself working with his new friends, revenge story, ect...) makes it alot of fun

Honestly that’s a really good way of putting KB. Instead of saying “Power is good in the right hands”, it’s a story asking the big question of “Should we have power if it allows dubious people to wield it for evil?” Sojo and Kyora (two main baddies so far) each have their own unique perspectives running parallel to Chihiro. Chihiro believes power should only be used when necessary, willing to take back the problematic blades and preserve his father’s legacy. Sojo believes in the freedom of a weapon, willing to use it for its purpose and make more of them. Kyora only values a weapon as another means of profit and prosperity, willing to sacrifice his family and his own life for it.

Shounen isn't a genre, and I think tons of shounen exist that don't feel much like each other, and most shounen use soft magic systems. The ones that use hard magic systems are just talked about the most. I think what's different is Kagurabachi takes from a lot of shounen that haven't been seen as the exemplars. Honozono is the first true Gen Z mangaka at this level, so his influences are a lot in Hollywood cinema, and if you pay attention stories such as JJK, likely Demon Slayer, and Char feels like Eri from MHA. The Sazanami and their dynamic to Hakuri feels a lot based on the Zenin and Maki, except the narrative doesn't treat them as unsympathetic villains to be exterminated (totally different purpose). Kyora being a long mustachioed guy with literal " projection sorcery" is likely rooted in Naobito, and his intent on preserving the clan's success. I like that Honozono has a technically double sided magic system. People can do things, and then the weapons can do things, in a nutshell.

If this genre is something u like i would sugest more chinese based material where such trope is more common. But a word to the wise genre-fatigue is a thing. You get bored of it after a while.

Bro kagurabachi isn't all that different. It has the spiritual energy, similar to curse energy or chakra. U said kagurabachi is changes the shonen trope because the main character uses swords and isn't trying to master spiritual energy. But the sword uses spiritual energy. It's similar to so many other series like jjk, yuji doesn't have cursed technique at first but eat sukuna finger to fight. Bro it's same in the end. Even the main character motivation is shonen like to never let sword harm other it's same. Only difference is the main character age. And my main problem with kagurabachi is philosophy that sword maker is responsible for the wrong doing of sword weilder. It's stupid and most shonen like.

I feel like u genuinely just described any other manga. Example. Devils Fruits is the power system, the power to rule em all, until Haki was introduced and now it topples the devil fruits system and is now more important, and now u introduce the complexities and levels of haki
@philltheotherguy18682 ай бұрын
I don’t think that’s the same. Haki was introduced in the story later in but it existed the whole time in the world of the story itself, and it mostly serves to compliment the original power system. The enchanted blades make natural sorcery obsolete in universe, so their has existence causes a greater shift in the society of this world
@johnpalcon75702 ай бұрын
@@philltheotherguy1868 yes but from the beginning of the story, the blades existed
@ChilledBacon2 ай бұрын
@@johnpalcon7570 different aspect though. haki is more like a big boost to help your current arsenal. the swords in kagurabachi is literally a hand held nuke. you lose your original sorcery and gain something far above anything else in the world, at least that will be the case until the ability to forge the datenseki gets "cracked"
