Not sure if that’s the case, I think having high charisma sometimes let you skip certain events like the gatekeeper or toll bandit without needing to fight, debate or pay them. Also the relevance regarding Lu Su kinda made his rake weapon in DW8 a sensible design choice.

⁠​⁠@@SeriousTrivia Yes, martial and culture rep will allow skipping those scenarios and the reason I think charisma does play a factor is because on 3:12 for example, the dialogue is different compared to if you have high martial stats. The guard said he has a good-natured smile and not letting him in ruins the town’s reputation. It’s the same as the toll bandit in the one of the previous episode where the bandit said something like Sun Ce has an innocent looking smile and he feels bad taking money from him. In a later scenario with another toll bandit, you accidentally paid him which means the charisma check is not foolproof.

Idk if someone mentioned this from the last video but the Lady of the Han event is super not worth it. Not a great character, takes way too long to get, and she locks you out of self proclaiming. Which would be fine if there was a guarantee you could get the other emperors but sometimes they just end up in random factions and are stupid hard to find.

it is one of those things that you just have to do once and it is a good end game goal for us and motivation to stay good (no notoriety) and conquer more land (35 regions)

True enough, though I've never found much motivation for notoriety, the bonuses aren't that good in my opinion. Slander to employment is an ok tactic but just wiping a faction and taking all their officers takes way less time. Can't think of any other reason I'd choose notoriety off the top of my head.
