I love that Kurt is being acknowledged in a greater capacity these past few years. He's an absolutely impeccably talented athlete, a brilliant entertainer, and his story is one of the most harrowing tales of persistence through adversity that I've ever heard. As well respected as he is within the wrestling community, I still think he's underrated on the whole. He's up there with Austin and Rock, for me personally.

Every interview/podcast I see with Kurt he always has great energy and really good chemistry with the interviewer. And obv he’s a great talker with an engaging voice. Seems like a really nice guy. And I didn’t really catch much of Kurt in the WWE, prob just his last few years, but going back and seeing some of his classics with guys like HBK, Eddie Guerrero and Benoit. Noticed that Kurt had his timeline of events mixed up. Brock definitely won his first title against the Rock. Not holding that against him, he’s getting older and probably has some memory issues. Still loved the interview. Kurt’s a bonafide HOFer, and deserves all his flowers and then some.
@navtektvАй бұрын
Unfortunately this is pattern in all Kurt Angle interviews, at least the ones I've watched. Kurt needs to be reminded of the timeline sometimes. Wrestling takes a toll. And with what Kurt put his body through, I'm usually more surprised by how lucid he actually is in these interviews. You see some seasoned boxers and even UFC guys give interviews and some of them are barely there and they don't even work 200+ days a year wrecking their bodies for our entertainment. It is a bad sign though. I hope it doesn't herald less and less recall in the future.
@aybanpaliАй бұрын
@@navtektv Yeah a lot of those fighters in the UFC took massive amounts of head blows so it’s definitely not surprising that it took that much of a toll on them later in life. It really is sad to see, and I hope they’re rightfully compensated for the damage they sustained.
@MrHighlifewest7 күн бұрын
To be fair he gets most of his timeline correct. I get what your saying though its like Undertaker he's able to recount moments etc really well but you can see he is struggling to remember years, dates etc and sometimes gets it mixed up. Taker at least acknowledges it and mentions about CTE.

One thing I think people don’t know about or maybe they do is that Kurt angle never got any royalties from merchandise. Vince McMahon told him since he didn’t come up with the idea he didn’t get any royalties from the merchandise, which is one of the most evil things ever considering he was the one getting in the ring and putting his body on the line. I feel like that is something that WWE should be ashamed of

The reason Kurt left to tna was because Vince wanted him to go to rehab for the pills and that was the condition for him to come back. TNA told him he didn’t need to go to rehab and allowed him to pop pills. So he went to TNA. He made less money at TNA but popping pills was alll he cared about.

53:45 I think Vince just didn't want Kurt to wrestle part time. That rule that the company will allow you to wrestle part time if you have 10 years in the business is absurd. Brock Lesnar wrestled for 2 years from 2002-2004 and then returned in 2012 for a part time contract. The Rock also wrestled less than 10 years before he started working part-time when he returned the first time. Vince really messed up there but at least we got Kurt Angle in TNA.
@AD-ur1fkАй бұрын
Vince would only do that for his favorite top stars like Brock , taker, rock

9:55 Listen to this version of Vince to what he became today. Imagine if he had this advice for Roman back when the Shield broke up. We might have gotten the Tribal Chief much sooner. There was a point at which Vince was the genius that he always thinks of himself as being. but that was maybe a period of three years within which the Attitude Era began and the Monday Night Wars ended. Everything after that, the success that happened in the business happened despite Vince being there instead of because of him.

@@MarkFugitive- Maybe you're right, WCW effed themselves over more than WWE did anything enough to actually beat them. And then Vince just swooped in at the right moment to Captalize? Yeah, maybe that's a better way of thinking than actually giving Vince much credit.
