I agree with him - he is a singer and under a label, so posting political views aren't good. He can release a song if his company choses like many artists do, but posting his views isn't smart and fans should not force their views onto artists or expect all people to react to things the same way they do, so if the fans want to be vocal and protests they can and he can chose to do the same or to do otherwise. Coercion is not good. He can express himself as he choses privately. Also, his dog's birthday and the political unrest are different things - should people not celebrate their loved ones just because a different bad things is happening? Nah, haters goin' hate. While I don't actually know his music, he acted in the correct way. Not everything always has to be about politics. Most of us are sick of people who always push that. He did well and should be fine in future.

Considering how Korean netizens overreact to every little thing an idol does, I don’t take their anger seriously anymore. They get angrier at idols dating than they do at actual criminals. I don’t know this guy but he would have been damned either way so if he felt it wasn’t for him to speak up, that’s fine. He has the right to express political opinions or not just like everyone else. I’m kinda glad he’s like, whatever, to all of it. Feeding into these reactions and apologizing for doing nothing wrong just feeds into these delusional, parasocial relationships.
