This series is becoming comedy gold! First, because the Colonel is clearly not a fan of ET2. but has stumbled on something that a lot of people like and so has to keep doing it. It is sort of amusing to hear the complaints! Second, because out of a clear blue uneventful sky every now an again catastrophe happens But also because (like most people) I know this game and spend some time yelling things like "Look - there is a rest stop over there - just turn left!!" or "call up the flipping map and divert to the nearest petrol station!"

@@Charles_Anthony There were some bed icons next to the toll booths he was passing through. I was wondering why he passed right by the last one when the bed was 90% blue. (but then again, when it's that full, there's only the two little bedposts to show color, so it's not very noticable)

As a lorry driver, I can confirm that the rage spent hunting for a rest stop (you learn where they are quickly) when you should -legally- have 9 or 11 hrs sleep or 45 minutes rest (and they're registered for 2 months) is very, very real. And then when you finally reach a stop it's more often than not full beyond capacity. Typical EU legislation; 50.000 trucks on the road that need to rest, 500 parking spaces. Just be happy the game isn't fully simulating EG561/2006 and EU2020/1054... Though it would make for hilarious content.

As for "la gendarmerie", the officer is "un gendarme". That is just for the record. Thanks a lot for your patience and the time spent to find an another unusual way to entertain us the way you do! At 22:45 you come to a roundabout where your route turns right. You first asked for a rest stop along your route at 19:32. (Just before then, just before your bed turned red, you actually passed one. It was by the toll booth.) At 20:45, just as you are saying you have enough fuel for 40 miles, there is a rest stop on your minimap on another road off to the left. If you had turned left at the roundabout at 22:45 instead of right you would have gone to that rest stop. You asked for a rest stop and just over a minute later you were shown one.

3:10 normally don't comment twice but I believe it's a monthly thing in California and, when you go to court, you can have the speedometer tested and, if it wasn't calibrated recently, the judge will throw out the ticket. Literally the only good thing about this state.
@macsandsquid5283 ай бұрын
As someone who worked with California law enforcement, and access to the internet, you're assertions to the requirements are incorrect. The speedometer needs to have it's calibration checked annually (the vehicle manufacture calibrates the speedometer). And I have observed in court where judges didn't give two honks about the speedometer calibration, if there is sufficient additional information to prove the officer's case.

Backseat driver here! You usually have to look at the world map and zoom around to find the rest spots, and fuel spots. There's a lot of routs that your nav computer there will send you that just have no sleep and fuel areas on them. It's advantageous to look at the world map before you embark, and plan your rout so that you're near a sleep spot around the time period you get tired, and that you pass near a fuel place when you're going to need it. It's all about planning your rout. You often have to adjust your rout instead of blindly just following the sat-nav. Blindly following where the sat-nav tells you where to go can often land you in trouble in this game just like it can in real life. The world map is your friend when it comes to planning and changing your routs around. You can often even plot routs that are quicker to get to the destination than what the sat-nav gives you.
