Im actually in my chamber right now as I’m writing this for my 2 hour session. I’ve used mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy, soft shell for the past 3 years and continue today…I believe it’s helped my mitochondria. I have a chronic inflammatory autoimmune condition. I hopped into my chamber I purchased for my home when I was having chemo treatment for aggressive small cell carcinoma in my liver. It was a shitburger to be precise…7 month prognosis, I was terminal. There is evidence of no disease recurrence since my first session back in 2021. I am 3 years, 10 months post prognosis…my oncologist scratches his head…even today 3 years, 10 months later. He describes me as ‘spectacular’ I believe the oxygen therapy played a massive part in my journey to be disease free and not terminal. I did six weeks unbroken, 2 hours a day, 7 days. Had a 2 week break, then repeated once more. My scans were unremarkable…my lesions were shrinking and now have disintegrated…my liver has ‘no disease recurrence’ showing on my scans since September 2021. After my two, six weekly mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions 🥂 I now hop in my soft shell chamber every other day…it also helps with my knee that I had surgery on nearly 18 years ago…it still gives me jib now and again

@@paulacoder6316 OXYGENATION TREATMENT Why oxygen is used as a treatment. “Oxygen actually controls our most important genes. Beginning with the creation of blood vessels in the embryo, a mechanism that continues throughout life in healing wounds from skin to brain. It ranks in importance with the determination of the structure of DNA.” Emeritus Professor of Medicine Philip B James What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment? Hyperbaric medicine is providing a high dosage of oxygen to the patient in a pressure chamber, pressurised to a maximum of 2 atms (atmospheres), usually for a session lasting about one hour. The patient is seated in the chamber and breathes pure oxygen through a face mask. Trials and practice conducted over a period of thirty years have shown that oxygen treatment can and does help in the management of MS symptoms and more importantly, long-term regular treatment can and does slow down the progression of symptoms. It is not a cure and it will not stop the MS. However, the earlier one starts the treatment following the discovery of MS the better. Other benefits may also include reduced levels of fatigue, improvements in balance, walking and bowel and bladder function. During the last forty years in the UK there have been in excess of 5 million hours of oxygen treatment involving in excess of 50,000 people with MS. The statistical evidence collected from more than thirty years of treatment at the UK MS centres has demonstrated that 80% of those who start oxygen treatment and stick at it derive benefit in the management of their symptoms. What is happening when Hyperbaric Medicine is used? All doctors accept that the affected areas in the spinal cord and brain of a patient with MS, are inflamed. Inflammation causes the level of oxygen in the body tissues to fall and this activates a protein system called Hypoxia Inducible Factor proteins (HIF). One of these proteins, HIF 1 Alpha, regulates the transfer of white blood cells to the body tissues to control infection and is also responsible for the growth of new capillaries in wounds. This master protein also regulates more than 8000 genes so giving a high level of oxygen even has genetic consequences which programme inflammation and it is little wonder that one hour of oxygen in a chamber can have effects that last. Is Hyperbaric Medicine safe? Hyperbaric medicine is simple, safe, and without any significant side effects. During its 40 years of use at the UK MS centres there has not been a single case of significant injury or accident. Some people might experience a build-up of pressure in the ears, but this is easily released by popping the ears or swallowing. This is the same experience as when flying at high altitude. Some people may find a pressure chamber claustrophobic but, except in extreme case, most people soon overcome any unpleasant enclosed feelings. The 65 UK MS Centres are registered charities operating 83 pressure chambers. In 2008 the MS centres were deregulated by Act of Parliament on the grounds of their safety and effectiveness. 1000 people attend the centres every day. In 2008 the late Right Hon Lord Whaddon, who suffered from MS, wrote the following: "The National MS Therapy Centres have pioneered the use of low pressure barochambers in the community and this simple treatment has given improved quality of life for thousands of patients.” Christopher Fox-Walker BA(Hons)

Hi. I had gums that wouldn't heal after 4 teeth were pulled. I had proton radiation for neck cancer six years ago. It has weakened my teeth and jaw bone. After 20 sessions at 2 atmospheres, my gums began to heal nicely. I was also low in hemoglobin according to a blood test before I started. Hopefully, the treatments have increased the richness of my blood. Is that possible, Doc? also I seemed to have reached a plateau with one big molar space still not covered over. Should I take a few days off and start my dives again? What do you think? Thanks.

However stopping it all back in 2015 and then making sure I was putting into my body as much organic foods plus changing where I got my minerals and vitamins from...As had no idea most herbal stores actually sell what is NOT BIOAVAILABLE to the body ..even my 84 year old Mom is taking what I take... No medications since 2015 either... Drs were Keeping me sick... However I have a fracture ankle and am trying to find Hyperbaric treatment for this, sadly one Hospital which is private has a machine, and have not even replied to me... So having to look at flying to another island for treatment which will make it more expensive... Wishing you all the best..❤

@@alicat8687 Thanks for the reply. I'm currently in the Dominican Republic. I had Shingle in my left ear in Sept. 2018. That wasn't diagnosed for 5 days, and when it was the damage had been done. It cause Ramsey Hunt syndrome which kills the nerves in your face on the effected side. I recovered from that "mostly". Still have some nerve damage. the lasting effect was damage to the vestibular nerve, which leaves me "dizzy" all the time. It's not really dizzy per say. I find the closest thing to what I am experiencing is an explanation of Laberynthitis. "After a period of gradual recovery that may last several weeks, some people are completely free of symptoms. Others have chronic dizziness if the virus has damaged the vestibular nerve. Many people with chronic neuritis or labyrinthitis have difficulty describing their symptoms, and often become frustrated because although they may look healthy, they don’t feel well. Without necessarily understanding the reason, they may observe that everyday activities are fatiguing or uncomfortable, such as walking around in a store, using a computer, being in a crowd, standing in the shower with their eyes closed, or turning their head to converse with another person at the dinner table. Some people find it difficult to work because of a persistent feeling of disorientation or “haziness,” as well as difficulty with concentration and thinking." There are HBOT chambers on the island, but after 2020 and a bout with Covid my lungs may be damaged to the point I'm not eligeble for HBOT treatment. Trying to get to the states to see.

Is there a danger that after a long course of hbot, your body comes to rely less on red blood cells for oxygen transport and so produces fewer. But then when you stop the hbot you don't have enough red blood cells, and you get a kind of withdrawal effect?
@randomuser888447 ай бұрын
There definitely is a danger to a long course of hbot. Not everyone is ideal for this therapy. Some side effects can be serious. I suggest digging into it and reading the studies thoroughly. The ideal way is to start with lowest atmospheric presssure like 1.3x and do 10-15 minutes max several times then wait a few weeks and observe how you are doing. Increasing time in chamber gradually and slowly after that. Some people report significant sleep disruptions and other unpleasant permanent effects due to oxygen toxicity.

@HBOT USA great thanks. The goal is to do 20-30 90 min sessions. I got a 2.0 ATA chamber and a 20 L/min oxygen condenser... Set it on 16 of 17 L / min. Normally you breath 6 - 7 L / min air. That is at 1.0 ATA. Following the laws of Boyle you need 1.3 * 7 = 9.1 --> take a 10 L / min. And use a non-rebreacher oxygen mask... With a reservoir... Those masks are cheap...

With HBOT, you're not treating conditions or issues, but rather treating the person. You're giving them tremendous amounts of oxygen (that's not otherwise possible at normal atmospheric conditions), and the body does what it does with the surplus of oxygen. Generally speaking, as long as a person doesn't have contraindications, they should be good to go.

This is disappointing. If it’s only a temp benefit we are not treating the root cause. Most can’t do hbot over and over again just to some marginal benefit. We are hoping treatments get us back to our former selves
@filthyrando363210 ай бұрын
Considering it encourages stem cell growth I wouldn’t consider that to be a temporary benefit.
@HBOTUSA10 ай бұрын
“Marginal benefit” would be dependent on what a person views these changes to be. The frequency and duration of continuous sessions would also depend case by case but it is certainly easier to maintain the benefits after a series of treatments and therefore typically require much less on an ongoing basis should someone decide to continue.

Yes hyperoxia ( hyper=increased oxia =oxygen) increased oxygen. This is the entire goal of the therapy. If by hyperoxia you mean oxygen toxicity, then the answer is it could but it is also very easy to avoid oxygen toxicity when using hyperbaric. Please see my videos on oxygen toxicity to fully understand those concepts. Thank you
