"How long does it take to clean a house? How long for deep cleaning? How long for speed cleaning, spring cleaning or maintenance cleaning?"
"LOL. How long does it take to clean a house? If I had a dollar for every time I get asked these two questions: How much does it cost to clean a house? And How long does it take to clean a house? I'd be rich." says Angela Brown, The House Cleaning Guru.

Rule of thumb is it typically takes 2:25 hours to clean the first 1000 sf and 1.25 for every additional 1000 sf ONCE the initial deep clean is done. The estimate for the deep clean is 2 to 4 times longer than that. There is no way to know how long it will take until you do it. If client can only afford a set amount, work out what is most important to them and only clean that area, acknowledging up front that its still an estimate and you will do your best to get it done, but stop at an appropriate point if you cannot accomplish that.

It's absolutely true 🌞 First time is always longer for me .6 / 7 hours. Once familiar with that home/apartment. The time for me is cut in half. I just started out so I'm taking my time as well to learn. I spent 7 hours yesterday at a apartment first time customer. And I did heavy duty cleaning. The reason ..it's easier next week for me to just do general cleaning. Some people want there sheets cleaned and changed plus their laundry. That's more time . I'm alone so average for me second time is 3 and a half hours to 4 hours. Not to bad . I so appreciate your videos they are really awesome ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️💓🌞🌞🌞🌞

Great answer! Another variable we can not control is how people respond after the first cleaning. I have had first cleans that were tremendously difficult but once they saw the results they decided to keep up on their house. Unfortunately, the exact opposite has happened as weli which makes gauging a weekly or biweekly price a little more difficult. In my experience most people respond positively especially if they want a weekly service.

6:45 100% but clients dont understand this. I spoke with a woman recently on the street. She took down my number for her friend and- of course- asked me "how much would it cost for a 2400 sq ft house so I can give her an idea" I tried to explain that I need to do a walk through to but was losing her interest but if I give a price "sight unseen" its inaccurate. So frustrating. :/
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 3 жыл бұрын
When a prospect asks for an instant quote sight unseen, I always ask them, "Let me ask you this, how much does it cost for a meal?" They usually stop and then ask, what kind of meal? Do you mean a restaurant meal or one you cook at home? That opens a dialogue about needing the specifics in order to give an accurate price. Most people don't think through what they are asking. The range is the best you can do - and 9 times out of 10 if you give a quote out of the blue without pre-qualifying the quote - you will never hear from the person again.

Angela im a very thorough person.Alot of my clients have clutter & dishes to clean.I usually have to tidy up.Some clients understand a 3 bedroom /2baths can take 7hours if its once a month.A 2 bedroom one bath ,can take me 5 hours (every other week).Im not slow,but either theres tons of magnets on a fridge door,the outside kitchen cabinets are dirty.I now tell people if you want your 3bedroom 2 bath done in 4 hours ,then its just s basic cleaning without wiping down cabinets,doors,or walls.Also sometime i had a housekeeper come clean my place which is a small tidy basement apt & she spent 2hours doing just the kitchen & floors.So see its not the pace.

Some of the things you mentioned will take up alot of time on a basic clean. You can offer that as an extra clean and do it on another day. The cleaning time sometimes depends on the cleaner and the job they are doing. Thanks for sharing your story and for watching the video.

If you did the deep cleaning on the first visit, then maintenance cleans on a biweekly basis and then for whatever reason there has been a lapse in visits (maybe just 1 or 2 visits was skipped, so 2-4 weeks) is the next visit a deep clean? How to explain that to the client (if *they* did the lapsing and what about if *I* DOD the lapsing?) Thanks!!!!!

Hi. 😊 I'm sorry you feel confused. Everyone's cleaning routine/process can be structured differently and that might be adding to your confusion. If you are able to do an in-person walk-through with a cleaner, that is a great solution as you both see the scope of the work and a more accurate time estimate can be given. If you have a set budget, that could also help to define what work can be accomplished in a given amount of time. I hope you were able to find someone that you're happy with! Thank you for your comment. 🙂

Hi I have a question ❓ is a home that's a move out need cleaning is that the same as a deep clean and how much should that kind of cleaning prices per different sizes 1,2,3,4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom to 1 1/2 ,2 bathroom 2 1/2 bathroom and how much should be charged for moving out Left idem like beds TV's clothes ect.. please help me
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
When it comes to cleaning a move-out home, it generally involves a more thorough deep cleaning to prepare the property for the next occupants. The pricing for move-out cleaning varies based on factors like the home's size, specific cleaning tasks required, and regional rates. While pricing can differ depending on your area, a rough estimate is around $100 to $400 or more for a 1 to 2-bedroom apartment or small home. Larger properties with 3 or 4 bedrooms and multiple bathrooms may range from $200 to $600 or more. Additional services like carpet or window cleaning may have extra charges. When it comes to items left behind, cleaning services typically focus on cleaning around them rather than moving or disposing of them. For help with removing or disposing of such items, you may want to consider separate moving or junk removal services. To get accurate pricing, it's best to contact local cleaning services or professionals who can provide estimates based on your specific needs.

@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
My philosophy didn't change. It's the reality that every clean is different, every home is different, every homeowner has different priorities. There is more than one right way to clean a home and the key is to adapt to what is needed in the moment for the client you are serving.
@cantsay
@cantsay Жыл бұрын
But can't you find ranges for categories? Like a small house with an office worker deep clean would be (say) 3-6hours, small full house with kids and pets 6-12hrs. The ranges could be large, but at least a range would allow a client to know how much time investment they need to plan for.

some clients like to tell you what needs doing & how long it will take, it's their way of trying to get something for nothing, I have let the controlling clients go in favour of the liberal ones who let me take the initiative

I think we have all had clients like that. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

I am also starting to decline clients who want the lowest rate. While I have body aches and bad nails/dry skin. I love to clean and their inconsideration to what I put my body through is not worth their business
