For years I’ve been writing some Fallout 3 fan fiction and your video has solidified my setting/movement choice. Basically I would LOVE to see a Fallout 3 remake with the ability to choose from 3 different stories. One you play as a newly minted Synth created by a captured Commonwealth Scientist working for The Enclave whom are led by a seasoned General who survived the attack on Navarro and led The Enclave all the way to DC . The scientist created you to defeat the The Enclave however the scientist is killed by The General after The General discovers his betrayal with the help of the scientist treacherous lab assistance. Now as this synth you can choose to escape or stay and work for The Enclave to capture valuable scientific assets to help complete a Synth army including persons of interest such as Dr. Li, the synth scientist hiding in Rivet city, Harkness, etc. Hell you even capture Dr. Braun eventually on your pursuit for the G.E.C.K as well since The Enclave want to destroy FEV mutations in The DC Wasteland, destroy The BOS, “cleanse” The DC Wasteland, and march north all the way to north to Boston to nab their crown jewel The Institute and all of it’s tech (including teleportation) to finally bridge them back to recapturing the West Coast, activating remnants cells along the way. As this Synth you can either serve The Enclave and take over The Wasteland, help The Brotherhood of Steel, or Destroy both and “free” the Wasteland to be as it wants with/without you as its leader. The next choice you start as a freshly reanimated Feral Ghoul, brought back to life by the Ghoul scientist researching how to help ghouls live and fight feral disorder. Think basically playing as Frankenstein’s Monster. Lol. You have the same choice as The Synth however it is MUCH more difficult to ally with The Enclave being an abomination. Ultimately your objective proper is to get the G.E.C.K to aid your “father” in his research to “deferal” feral ghouls or basically cure their “dementia” and possibly reverse the ghoulification process. You can ally with The Brotherhood of Steel whom are willing to work with your “father” as an ally with some convincing, and align with them to fight The Enclave and Super Mutants that terrorize the downtown area. As a ghoul you start off in Underworld. Lastly you have the regular player character as they exist originally. Now choosing each of these has merits and draw backs. As the ghoul and synth your SPECIAL skills are fixed in the beginning. The Synth has higher agility, intelligence, and enhanced endurance, strength, and perception however 0 charisma triggering certain characters to not talk to you until you are altered by the runaway scientist in River City who can re-roll your stats and appearance so you can blend in better. As The Ghoul your strength and endurance are EXTREMELY high with enhanced perception but your intelligence, and agility are low. Also you have negative charisma which means few non ghoul characters will speak to you until you get your re-roll after getting the some highly irradiated artifacts like experimental jet engine component and specific nuclear waste module found at the waste dump. Each character has their own set of skills, strengths, and weaknesses. There’s MUCH more but that’s the gist. Please anyone who read all this. Lol. I wrote out skills, special dialog, built on lore for the DLCs (an especially funny scenario turning what is basically Frankenstein’s Monster loose on an alien ship. Think Jason X but YOU’RE Jason. ROFL) backstory of how The Enclave and The Brotherhood of Steel came to be in The Capital Wasteland and a flashback of The Pitt with an unfortunate first encounter for The BOS and a “Vietnam Style” hostile takeover launch by The Enclave using Vertibirds which the player can participate in. They should be almost the same. That's how fast travel times are supposed to be calculated. Just straight walk time, no combat, etc much like this video here. Which is why you never take damage but chems and food wear off appropriately. That's my understanding and it seems to be pretty much the case, def in fo4

No one cares, but watching this reminded me of my first FO3 playthrough. I wanted it so bad, and got it for my 10th birthday. Played it obsessively for a full week, and my PS3 got the yellow light of death. I was so devastated at the time and spent so much time troubleshooting on the phone with Sony support lol. Grandma had my back and paid for the repair. A month later I got the replacement console and obsessed over FO3 for another month. Nice video

We can do 76. I have 1st so I can change the settings to let you get a world similar to that. Or failing that, I can go ahead and kill everything in your path before you get there so your run isn't affected, because I have a mutation that lets me run faster and I can kill things very quickly with the weapons I've got.

After watching it these are something I noticed 1: 3/NV are mostly walled off maps 2: 3/NV movement speed is about half that if FO4 3: there are a lot more obstacles to get around going from point A to Point B in the older games like invisible walls(as seen in the NV section) taking longer Over all still a fun little video.

As a player that prefers to not use fast travel it is quite noticeable that the movement speed in 3/NV is slower compared to 4 and that those 2 games take advantage of terrain to make their worlds feel larger than they are (it's similar to Morrowind). 3/NV having more walled off maps is obviously engine limitations, especially the memory issues in NV. Even though 4 has a lot more verticality, particularly in Boston itself, the terrain is flatter and there are few "shortcuts" for getting around the map aside from fast travel and vertibirds so I wonder if the increased movement speed was testing feedback, particularly in survival mode. My guess is due to mechanics like the power armor jetpack the devs realized they couldn't use invisible walls aside from the map boundaries.

I’d just like to point out - when you consider the speed difference between F3 + F4, and that time moves slower in F4, the Sole Survivor is moving at immense speeds. Where you’d see The Courier or Lone Wandered jog by the Sole Survivor would shoot by you like Usain Bolt!

I travelled from the north side of the FO76 map to the south over encumbered while wearing the Chinese stealth suit. Let's put it this way I was carrying so much stuff I was moving slower then a one arm no leg assaultron(I never realized they could still move as long as they had one arm). I believe it took me almost like 30 minutes, as I was dodging and hiding from the scorch and the freaking bat. Doesn't help that I kept picking up stuff along the way... Definitely not recommended.

On Fallout 4 I have such high Endurance and about 4 pieces of armour and clothing that boost speed by 10% and/or Endurance, that combined with Solar Powered means that I can sprint across the map faster than using vertibirds. 😂

I really like the render distance on PC allowing you to see the washington monument from alot of places for fo3. If you dont know DC has building codes and zones designed in a way to not have things taller than the monument and to give you the ability to see the monument from many different places in the city.

The building codes are against the height of the capitol building, which is a lot shorter than the monument. (Which makes sense, it wouldn't stand out if everything was as tall as it.) There are also streets radiating out from the monument, so even if you are 10 or 20 miles away, you can turn a corner and bam! a straight line of sight to it.

I have First for 76. I could host a private world. Only problem is my schedule. 😂 Also you could possibly use an item that is similar between games, like a corvega and use the time it takes to run past a couple of them to gauge the similarity between 3/NV walk speed/distance vs 4 speed/distance

Fo 3/NV are tiny maps in comparison to FO 4 massive map. Should be interesting to see the time difference. Edit: I knew NV map was small but I didn't realize how many invisible walls there was in the map, makes it feel a bit smaller imo.

Fallout 76 is about 20 mins to cross the map. I remember doing that myself when the game came out. You should of also done Fallout 1 and 2 since the games do also have a map a travel system. It has never actually been calculated or done how long it takes to go from top left to bottom right on either of the first two games. The in-game travel times have been calculated depending on the squares. Fallout 1 is about 30 squares each being 12 miles. In-game time is about 6 hours for city squares, 10 hours for desert squares, and 20 hours for mountain squares. In Fallout 2 it is also 30 squares from top left to bottom right but each square is more than double that of Fallout 1, between 25-30 miles. The travel time is also different; it takes 25 hours to cross city/desert/ocean tiles and 32 1/2 hours to cross mountain tiles.
