Sorry doc, this is way too simple an answer for this question. Generally, your timeline is about right. But the nerves getting zapped like that is ROUGH, 2 years at least with LOTS of PT. You also didn't mention the multitudes of possibilities of types of tumors. Congenital lipoma 8cm long, obviously intramedullary. The objective was resection for nerve compression, not removal, and without paralyzing me. This kind of surgery is much different than your 6 week, year and half nonchalant recovery description

How are u ? Took me about five yrs without a cane. Best to remain positive and always try to walk with aids per day, everyday.

@@adnanzafar32 I did pool walking. Had physio for back. As much walking as possible although slow. I was told, the effort u do will not be seen physically for at least six months. Is such a slow process, just need to do bit by bit. Day by day.
