The later versions of Pimax Play have OpenXR integrated into the software, if you want to make OpenXR setting changes, you can still use OpenXR Toolkit Companion, seems to work well. 😁

i put studio confort kit for better FOV and sweetspot and i use open xr, it improves a lot my fps and sharpness, now i got a crazy experience on ams2 or AC

Well, I have a feeling a windows update might have snuck its way onto my pc today because performance is absolutely terrible on both my Crystal OG and the Light. Strange things happening which might end up in a clean install of windows. 😫

Thanks mate. Pimax sent this to me via a distributor in Australia so my response really isn’t valid in your case. My Crystal OG took around 2-3 weeks when ordered from Pimax.

I don’t know of a local Brisbane dealer but I know that VR Zone sells Pimax Headsets. They’re based in Adelaide I believe.

I have been nearly pulling the trigger on this pimax light to replace my G2. I get a solid 90fps at 130% res in the racing sims I have. My fear is performance, and i hear to much about lens lottery and when yoh have to wait 3 weeks for delivery I can just foresee head ache if something aint right.

What’s your pc specs? If you’re concerned I’d suggest buy from Amazon or a local distributor. That will make returns a lot easier if required.

@@hybridsimrig In the UK, it seems the only place to purchase from is Pimax direct. 7800x3d, 4090rxt, 64gig 6600mhz ram. My G2 is running sweet at a solid smooth 90fps at 130% resolution in all my sim racing progs. My fear apart from the apparent poor quality control is the performance is going to suffer even if I use at the same res of my g2. I am thinking the Quest3 might be the more sensible option. It seems with the fiber optic cable I got for my Quest2 it will produce good bit rates upto 900. The big sweet spot sounds appealing also.

I was going to order a pcl, but im worries ill get a duff headset after waiting so long. Im on hp reverb g2 at the moment i wouldnt change this if it was still supported

I haven’t got around to making a video yet but I sent back the PCL because I couldn’t resolve the tracking issues I had with it. My Crystal OG is flawless. Maybe consider the Q3?

@ from memory the resolution in the Q3 is less than g2, but the q3 has edge to edge clarity so I preferred it over the g2 (I’ve owned them both). Pass through in meta headsets is by far the best. Can you order the PCL via Amazon where you live? That’s also an option. I try to order everything through there as the return policy is second to none.

Interesting. I haven’t used it that match but something seems off compared to my Crystal OG. My OG is flawless but the Light, even with a proper calibration after the video ended is still not right. I’ll definitely follow up on this video and tell it like it is 👍

@@hybridsimrig Mine constantly lost track of where it was in the room, it thought my controllers were 10 feet above my head at times. I could calibrate, run one lap in Assetto Corsa, and then check the room calibration and it would show the hologram of my playspace 10-20 feet away from where I was actually sitting. It became far more trouble than it was worth (and I thought my Quest 2 was a pain!)

@ I haven’t had a chance to really dive deep into the crystal light but what threw me off was that there didn’t seem to be an option to actually calibrate where the floor is. In the OG, you simply place the headset where the centre of your place space is and hit calibrate. Then you put it on the floor and enter a value of zero in Pimax play. Crystal light doesn’t seem to have this option unless it’s hidden in another spot. I did notice tonight that an update is available that addresses tracking issues but I haven’t had a chance to test. I don’t blame you for returning it if it wasn’t working.

@@hybridsimrig Do you have controllers with your PCL? I had the option to set the floor when doing the room boundary, but it required putting a controller to the floor and pressing the trigger.

I’m just using it as a test headset and will be sending it back shortly. I have the DMAS on my personal Crystal OG. They’re great 👍
