Just want to say it was because of you and Gavin that we have just brought a 2024 LR 77kwh which because of New Zealand price wars met all our expectations. Keep up with your great media always been watching from afar and this is my first comment.

Funnily enough watched a Kris Rifa video this morning talking about range tests and how everyone does them slightly different. I think the main takeaway though is to do it as a loop so you get a fair balance in case of elevation change, weather, traffic, etc. As for stopping totally agree, just recently moved up from my 28kWh Ioniq I had on lease and sold that to a friend to the 64.8kWh Kona and so different particularly now it's winter since we've just past the solstice and to basically be able to run it for an entire week without needing to charge. But also the longer road trips when i get to do one typically I stop every 2-3hrs not for a comfort break all the time but just to get out stretch my legs, some fresh air and such so also would plug in(if need to).

Great video. I've been looking at the new MG4's here in Spain (I'm a kiwi living here) I tst drove one last week and it drives surprising well and even sporty feeling. They are about to go up in price thanks to a new EV trade war looming. It means we might see MG's possible import tax rate at 38% which is going to be crazy as they where the only really good cheaper option I feel. I don't like the French or German EVs we do have. I drive a PHEV myself a 2023 model C300e estate and it has only a 25Kwh battery but it's given me the damn EV bug as I always want more EV range and getting tired of charging every few days! So I feel I should have gone full EV, and we also have plenty of free 11kw chargers about so I never really pay for charging. Have you tried the MG4 Xpower? Looks like a beast but the range is only around 280-300km real range in Eco mode.

Thanks! If you go back a few months on the channel we did a fun video with the Xpower.

Would love to buy one, may do so when they start using CATL's new LFP batteries in the long range variant, these batteries are less expensive than the NMC types, so prices should drop. Currently the distributors prices here in NZ are way too high, that combined with risky NMC battery chemistry is putting me off purchasing one.

Seems to be decent and about the same range as a rwd Y but you could have made Bombay I reckon as you had a nice buffer there.

Totally, but like to learn a vehicle before i do that.
