The yellow Zeekr is the 007 model though Zeekr doesn’t like people calling it that due to the British Association with the bond movies. I thoroughly enjoyed spending Friday morning there sitting in all the cars and examining the features. The 007 would be my favourite of all the cars there. The doors swing open and shut automatically. The only issue I had is that the boot space is very small. in fact many of the cars there had virtually no frunk storage. I was surprised that Polestar were not there.
@lincolnteh196316 күн бұрын
Left hand drive does not mean it's a concept car. These are all production.
@djyx815 күн бұрын
Correct. Esp the case in China where there is a very short period of time between "concept" to production. The concept of concept is fast disappearing.
@TassieEV16 күн бұрын
Thanks Richard...suspect BYD are saving their money for the FCL shows next year in Sydney & Melbourne. The yellow Zeekr I believe is the 007 and was specifically brought in for this show only got off the boat last week. Those 'concept' cars I don't believe they are concept cars at all they are production cars. That robotic dog I would swear it's a copy of Boston Dynamics. Smart Hastag 1 & 3, not number 1, it is to be called Hashtag 1 or 3 or 5.

I have done a lot of trade shows. Free shows are shit shows for anyone who is there with serious interest, like buying in the next 12 months. People who are not serious and have nothing else to do with their time crowd the stands and the exhibits, making it difficult for the people with serious interest and the exhibitors to achieve their aims. I was there yesterday and had plenty of time to spend time in most cars and chat to the staff. Money well spend as it would same me time and money driving around Sydney visiting the various show rooms. I did wish there were more car companies participating, but I completely understand how expensive it is to do so for them from personal experience.
@eds474316 күн бұрын
I am off today to check out the Cadillac show room in Rosebery (Sydney). Very interested in seeing the new Lyriq. This is the SUV size I am looking for. Yesterday, at the show, I had a close look at XPeng G9 for the first time and KIA EV9 again.

I agree that free is not the answer to a good show but I’m confused as to why this show was not the biggest one yet with the EV car’s currently on sale and what is coming in the next few months it’s just not reflecting what we’re seeing on the internet. I was test driving a Cupra Born in Sydney on Thursday and the new Tavascan was being prepared for the show but it was a left hand drive so I couldn’t test drive it! Maybe the show was just a bit rushed.

Great summary. Agree with the above comment that BYD missed out by not bringing the Shark thats already in Australia. Was really impressed with Zeekr, Deepal and Xpeng bringing a variety of vehicles, some of which might never be seen in Aus or NZ. Deepal in Australia will be distributed by Trivett Inchcape, believe Inchcape also have dealerships in NZ
@EVsBeyond16 күн бұрын
Inchcape is the distributor, Trivett is a dealer group owned by Inchcape. Inchcape's initial deal does not include NZ as we understand it, but it could happen.
