Liz, I can kind of relate. I’m a full time caregiver for my grandmother who has dementia and I used to have more help with her care but I lost 12 hours of care during the week for the last 2 years and my plants and garden are suffering for it but my grandmother is getting better care as I’m with her more. So I’m always telling myself “NO MORE PLANTS,” but it seems there’s always room for one or two or three or four more! I have like 1,000 houseplants and a garden to tend to. 😭🤣❤️ Love from the USA.

Again a great vdo. U r always in my prayers. I indulge in retail therapy of plants when am stressed out. But we are having temperatures of 41 and the succulents are keeping me on my toes. The established ones handle it better, but d babies take a toll. But part of the journey of growing plants i guess.
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 2 жыл бұрын
The big plants can handle without water for a long while but the babies I find enjoy more watering(everyday) in the shade when temperature is high.

What is treatment after soaking Should we put them in sun or acclimate them again before putting
@LostInThisGardenofLife
@LostInThisGardenofLife 2 жыл бұрын
Your plants will be fine putting it back where you had them, and they’ll be happy that way.
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 2 жыл бұрын
If you soak them for a couple of days in the shade or dark room like I did in this video, you can put them back where you had them before. But if you had them growing in full sun and you soak them indoors for longer than 2 days, then you have to acclimatize them again; otherwise they will burn.

So for southern hemisphere you're fertilizing with seaweed in Autumn but in northern hemisphere, that's spring... So should I be fertilizing in YOUR autumn or mine?
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jess, I'm doing a copy and paste to this comment from your comment on my other video but you can fertilize with seaweed whenever you water your succulents except for succulents that are dormant. Autumn is the same all over the world that has four season. Only the months differs. In the Northern hemisphere, your autumn is Sept., Oct. and Nov. Here in the Southern hemisphere where I am... Autumn is March, April and May. So when I say that their growing period is in Autumn; I meant Autumn. At the moment in the Northern hemisphere... if that's where you are... you're season at the moment is at the last month of Spring and you're temperature should be getting warmer as you come into Summer. That means that succulents such as agavoides, Sedum and Aeonium are just getting into dormancy.

I am afraid to water my babies everyday, i have propped roughly 100 over the winter. They now at a stage where they are deeply covered in farina and the tops are colorful while the bottoms are light colored and have a ton of farina. Weather is almost cooperating to get them outside. We have temps still dipping to 38 at night. Changes next week to 50, i i will be so glad to get them outside. Any tips for babies??
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 2 жыл бұрын
Babies(spring & summer growers) till they're about an inch size requires lots of water and warmth to grow. When temperature doesn't go below 32°F anymore, I usually take them outside to acclimatize slowly and take advantage of the sun.
