@whist122111 ай бұрын
In BotW, Impa says verbatim that the ride from Kakariko to the final memory in front of Fort Hateno will take a half-day. To us, that distance is so tiny that it's only a couple minutes. The difference in timepass, (which based on the above statement likely matches with that of the canon vs in-game map,) is probably even more than 60x canonically.

There are more factors though. Not many people could keep up the 5km/h pace while packing assumably required equipment though, at the very least a fireproof suit to get around Death Mountain, one meal and a good amount of water maybe 3 liters. On top of that, the actual distance covered and the speed at which one could cover that distance would change drastically due to topography. And that being said, you’d have to choose to either go directly diagonal, which you’d then need climbing equipment and an axe and paracord to make a raft to cross water, or make a more thought-out route avoiding bad terrain, which would probably be much longer to turn for bridges and go around steep hills and mountains.

Wild. I live in central Arkansas, and I just used Google Maps to get an idea of how big this is in the real world. Conway, AR is like the 7th largest city in the state, and we're not exactly known for our population density or large cities, so OUR 7th largest probably wouldn't even register compared to some other states, and Hyrule is actually slightly SMALLER than Conway, AR. For simplicity (damned Imperial units) I converted the kilometers to miles and found that Hyrule is just shy of 8 miles diagonally, while Conway (being slightly irregularly shaped) measures about 8.5 miles diagonally one way and 9.25 miles the other way. When you start plotting the geographical features found in Hyrule, like volcanoes, ice mountains, a rain forest, and a desert, all in such a small place, that's just absolutely wild.
