I find it pretty sad that Horrorgames have to rely only on jumpscares nowadays. This game did a very god job on building up tension but quickly screwed up with that bad animated jumpscare. Horrorgames are not just about scaring, they should be about creating an eerie atmosphere

Yeah, if they just took it out it'd leave you with a sense of dread at the fact there was no climax. It would also be cool if it could shut down your computer for a couple minutes afterward so you don't distract yourself and actually go explore your house. Making you feel like you're in a horror movie.

I was disconcerted enough to have to talk out loud to calm my nerves, but had my computer shut down I would have been paranoid and terrified despite having a home security system. I would have been in my own head, thinking someone somewhere set this game up as a sick joke, as a lure to catch random people to hack and shut down their computers and such. The paranoia is what makes it good horror.

I think the scariest part about this game was the questions about how close the police are to you and if you lock your door ..like I am more worried about them gathering this information to use it inappropriately...like really finding out where I live and invading my house but I watch way too many crime shows and such XD but that to me is the creep factor with this

Guys!! I get the chills easily and get really scared. But overtime, I found out three main ways to combat it. I hope this helps others too. Number one, some things are simply impossible. Always remember that impossible things will always remain that way. It gotta be like that sometimes lol :/ Ex. The "I'm in your house" part is impossible because I'm in a heavily secured household. It's simply impossible for someone to be here. ( Also, my parents both took military trainings-where they actually met. My brother is hella stronk. My grandfather will 11/10 rekt you, mate. Oh and, there are like 6 other people here so.. Heh ) Second, if you do happen to see/hear/feel/etc. something, it's likely hysteria and/or a hallucination caused by oneself overthinking-it's more common than you think. Ex. Static/Random noises stay that way unless you overthink. If you convince yourself that you hear shit, you *will* start hearing shit 👌 let the placebo effect help you out, not shit your pants. Lastly, the oldest trick in the book. Think of the ｈａｐｐｙ stuff/place/people/etc. Ex. Last night, I was washing my face. I had to do it for a minute more. During that time, a scary thought came to my mind. I tried to do the two other tricks but I found this one to be the most useful. I thought of my favorite game character and smiled when I imagined how he would narcissistically tell the monster to fuck off so I smiled. ( Smiling, even a fake one, releases chemicals in your brain and makes you happy btw! ) Fear is the most primitive emotion we human beings-or even other animals, have. We'd be *dead* if it weren't for our fight-flight-freeze response to threats. So, in a nutshell, what we fear the most is what made our civilization live and thrive. What I'm trying to say is, yeah, it's hella scary and all but remember. The dark was a place early humans were scared of, not because of ghosts or monsters or those shit, it was because of wild animals-predators who were after them.
