Lord Shimura wouldn't want you to be using repetitive Moon Stance glitching to get in free hits, that is exploiting an untreatable weakness, not just in your enemy, but in reality itself, it is an underhanded maneuver and is therefore dishonorable by a twofold stance. You also repetitively used the dash cancel slashes to exploit your opponents' inability to counter attack or even react to your attacks, since by the laws of reality they weren't able to. This too brings dishonor. You do not honor Lord Shimura with your exploitative techniques, nor do you impress me in any way.

Unfortunately, even if on a player-to-player basis someone else doesn't want it to be so. Its a forced decision as far as the poisoning mission goes. I personally enjoy both styles of play but don't think that one should be a forced over the other if the players want to only do it one way. FORCING us to poison the Mongols and be locked in the "dishonorable" path at a SINGLE point in the game seems heavy handed to me. By all means give us the players the tools to play how we want but don't bake a path locking action into a mission that could clearly be played either way. Make it a series of events that can be avoided but if even one thing is done that is "dishonorable" then steer into the ghost route, but there should be ways to play it "the samurai way" for players that want that experience, and that maybe don't want Sakai to end up a fugitive for the rest of his life. The "Ghost Mode" or whatever its called after poisoning the Mongols can still be a thing because who wouldn't be terrified if a single dude just waltzed in and killed like 6 of their friends without breaking a sweat? Boom there ya go, a way to make (at least most people) happy, its the same game with the exact same feature suite but there are more options, and a way to nab a second ending (adding a bit of replayability) without just straight up having to neglect whichever path the players might want to take. TL;DR: Give the players the choice to do things the way they want to in a game that can be played in either way without sacrificing features/abilities.

Honestly, this whole complaint about player choice is pretty ridiculous. The game is telling a story, and the poisoning mission is a critical part of that. You’re not supposed to avoid it because it’s a defining moment for Jin. It forces him to choose between clinging to his samurai code or doing what’s necessary to win. If you think you should be able to skip that just because you don’t like it, you’re missing the entire point of the game. The game is about the clash between honor and survival. Letting you walk away from that moment would completely undermine the story. This isn’t a game where you can always have it your way, it’s a story where tough decisions are made for a reason. Not everything is going to be about giving you the freedom to play however you want, and it shouldn’t be. Some moments are there to challenge you, not to cater to your preferences. And let’s be real, the whole "immersion" argument is blown out of proportion. Some of the best games, like The Last of Us or RDR2, lock you into tough choices because that’s how real stories work. If you could just skip every tough decision, what’s the point? The poisoning mission makes you feel the weight of Jin’s struggle. It’s not about giving you endless options-it’s about making you face the reality of the story. You don’t like it? Fine, go swing your sword around in a Mongol camp and give shimura a hard on. The game already gives you plenty of freedom outside the main story. But expecting them to bend over backwards just to let you avoid a key plot point? That’s not how storytelling works. Not every game needs to hand you a dozen choices at every turn. Sometimes, the story is better when you don’t get a say. You’ve got plenty to do in the game without them holding your hand through every mission.
