There's a really minor win here, but as someone who adores Mongol history I needed to say it. Mongolia didn't have a written language during Genghis' time, so they simply used Chinese for a long period of time. Kublai, who's Khan during the period Ghost of Tsushima takes place, had a Mongolian written language be created, trying to blend the Mongolian culture with Chinese in hopes it will last longer. Unfortunately most people didn't like it, finding it difficult and not detailed enough to convey everything they need, so it was pretty much forgotten and they continued use Chinese. Jin being able to read most things the Mongols write therefore makes perfect sense, since in all likelihood most of them would've avoided using Mongolian at all costs

What people are forgetting to mention about this game is how the gameplay evolved with the story. At the beginning you only have your sword and fighting skills. When you're still a Samurai. When you've unlocked all the tools and tricks of the assassin/rogue/stalker, you've gotten to the point in the story where you're more the Ghost. Most games have a fairly arbitrary reason for why your character becomes stronger and can use more abilities and tools over timed. But in GoT you have access to more abilities and tools as Jin realizes he needs to "cheat" in order to win in combat (and not have hostages executed).

Taka calls it a kaginawa not a takenawa (if you play with subtitles you can see what he calls it). Kagi meaning hook nawa meaning rope and a kaginawa was actually a grappling hook used by samurai class warriors during feudal Japan so this is actually Jin receiving the first ever kaginawa which is awesome. Yeah, this was a fantastic game, I loved most the parts where we went to shrines to pray to the shinto pantheon for assistance and getting stuff that genuinely helped, which is again the supernatural at work, we also see it with Jin's patron god Inari the god of foxes and some other stuff when we followed the foxes, I also really loved doing the Haiku's, the first thing I found was one of those Haiku's, that final Haiku "Eyes that saw my pain, A bond broken forever... This is where we part", I legit cried at that part, I couldn't bring myself to kill him, so I got the spare him ending.

Never heard English version before. Never understood how others were interpreting Jin as flat, but it makes sense to me now. English Jin doesn’t have the same grittiness and fire present in Japanese language Jin at all. Feels like an entirely different character.

I played the English version and it makes sense that Jin has a flat voice, but then, he starts showing emotions the more the story progresses. Japanese version just reminds me of Roronoa Zoro and I can't separate the characters (it's my fault ik) 😭

Jin is the waterfall, restless, fluid, twisted by every turn. And yet, he evaporates from the endless heat of his emotions. He needs serenity, the virtue of Clan Shimura. Shimura is the mountain, serene and solid. And yet, passing time wears him down permanently. He needs rebirth, the virtue of Clan Sakai. Balance, the Mountain and Waterfall living together in harmony. If only that actually happened. Instead, because of pride and enmity, the waterfall dried up, and the mountain crumbled to the ground. A wasteland left in their wake. 😔 An island saved, but at what cost?

The progression through the game is rewarding and even wanting to get the platinum trophy was a fun challenge. Where this game (for me) let me know that I was hooked, was when I went back to beat it again under new game+. It felt even better a second time even taking a different approach to the missions and liberating Tsushima. This game will forever be my game of the year.

I know I'm way late to this but I wanted to share a fun fact in just how fitting this is at 21:44. In the game you can collect singing crickets to obtain songs for the flute and there is one to call storms which is actually Jin's theme (named Jin Sakai) that plays at key moments in the game, so I feel it is super fitting that Jin is basically a personified storm. I love this game to death and I will always stand by my opinion of it being an absolute masterpiece of storytelling, game design, art direction and music direction. I don't think you'll see this GameWins but you did an amazing job on this video and I'm sure you have done amazing on newer videos as well as keep doing amazing on future videos, thank you for bringing attention to the good side of video games even if they weren't the best.

The Moment of When Jin’s Horse died (I named my horse Kage), I cried. That horse has helped me across Tsushima and it felt like we were both two friends, and the moments after conquering mongol outposts with the horse felt like both Jin and the Player had a connection with the horse. Then that moment where Shimura’s Forces shoot it and that moment where Jin falls to his knees is just… god it’s so heart wrenching.

Ghost of Tsushima was awesome. I really put over 100 plus hours into the game. The platinum trophy is what I really did it for. But with every game I really enjoyed, they just have to be that good to make me want to get the platinum. There are some games I enjoyed but acknowledge that the platinum is just either impossible, or has a trophy that I don't want to get. Ghost of Tsushima is the one that has none of that BS. I really thought it was a well crafted game. There are more games you should do an Everything Great about vid on I can recommend to you. Everything great about Devil May Cry the original. Though if you want to do the reboot, that's fine. Just address the backlash and poor reception the game received when it was announced. Everything great about God of War 1&2. The PS2 versions were great. The first one's started to show it's age and God of War 2's my favorite in the series. None of those top the one I'd like to see an Everything great about vid on. That is MGS1 on the original PlayStation. There was a remake on Gamecube called The Twin Snakes. But that version wasn't as good. There were more stylized cutscenes and the play style of MGS2 just kinda over streamlines the gameplay. None of the areas from the original game was reworked around the new mechanics. More specifically First person shooting. But if it's any consolation to you, you can do an everything great about The twin snakes since it does have better graphics. That'll do it for now.
