@revelred6 жыл бұрын
Woa thats dissapointing,a least they didn't had children,right?
@Xarx426 жыл бұрын
Yes, wikipedia says they had children. They is it dissapointing? Because they didnt live happy ever after? I think 17 years is quite a long time and I am sure, they had a great time together as well as good reasons to end their relationship.
@revelred6 жыл бұрын
I said is dissapointing for me because of how much obstacles they needed to come througth to be together but never said that it was wrong. But the bad part about divorces is that half of them have children incluided,and that afects their life quality and emotional stability.
@Xarx426 жыл бұрын
Well, I dont know when exactly their children were born, but with a divorce after 17 years I think the children should be probably okay (for this circumstances) :). Also I am convinced it varries a lot. If the couple divorces in peace I dont think the impact for the children is so drastic. But of course, if there are a lot of arguments (additionally about the care for the children maybe) it is probably quite stressfull for the children.

@CallieMasters50003 жыл бұрын
I read this title completely wrong. I thought the love story produced a baby who was not allowed to compete at the games. I thought the baby was a freak show or superhuman or something interesting. Plus, they said she went on to compete for the USA at future games, so the only suffering here was that she couldn't represent Czechoslovakia anymore. Nice story, but not half as exciting as advertised.

@@brenden6218 not really. So many ppl emigrated, so they didn’t really care abt it back then. And it wasn’t like you couldn’t root for a “foreign” athlete. I mean... if you rooted for the US in some hockey match they played against the USSR, your ŠTB neighbor could note that, but they didn’t really care when you supported a very famous and talented individual.

What do you mean? What does that even mean, "an American?" American ancestry? Born in the US? A citizen? A resident? As an American Olympian, Olga Connolly (as she was known during her marriage) represented the best of the US and the exact idea of the American Dream. She represented her birth country proudly, and she represented her adopted country proudly.
