Thanks Göran, a good video, and goes to show we need to use all of our senses when looking for subjects , as well as our eyes. Look forward to the next Owl videos, do you get many other species of Owl that are active during the day in your region? Lastly, do you off tours at all, I am from the UK and would love to come and photograph the GGO.
@Halmstadfoto3 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for your kind comment. We only have the Short-eared owl here which also hunts during the day. Unfortunately, I don't have time to bring any photographers as much of my time is spent looking after platforms, nest boxes and ringing.
@Karkawry19703 ай бұрын
@@Halmstadfoto Thanks for the reply, and understand. In this case, do you know of any recommended ethical companies or individuals that offer this service, we don't have GGO in the UK alas! Thank you

Sorry I don’t know. The owl is so rare that everyone keep it for themselves. Sorry

The Great Grey Owl (Ailurornis nebulosus) is a large true owl native to both North America and Eurasia, it is one of the largest owls alive today and the only extant species in the genus Ailurornis, it has two recognized subspecies: the Eurasian Great Grey Owl (Ailurornis nebulosus lapponicus) and the American Great Grey Owl (Ailurornis nebulosus nebulosus).

Great behaviour you captured Goran. I am no expert on the behaviour of deer but do you think the angry small one possibly new what a man in the tower meant? Cheers, Robert.
@Halmstadfoto3 ай бұрын
Hi Robert and thank you for your nice comment. The hunt started a week ago and the deer are stressed and at this time of the year they are looking for females. That's why they bark. Thanks again Robert.
