GREAT depiction of the physical bacteria. There are loads of info about proper treatment and what it does to people in UNDER OUR SKIN. BUT they don't cover the physiology of the bacteria which is necessary for people to understand how dangerous and invasive this crappy disease really is. This video needs to be added to the documentary.

Good intro video. One thing that I would add, though: Mercury / heavy metal toxicity is often involved in the clinical picture (esp. in neuro-lyme presentations) and must be simultaneously treated. Chronic infections and heavy metal toxicity are 2 things systematically ignored by mainstream medicine and yet are invariably involved with ALL chronic disease. Until this is acknowledged, people will just keep getting sicker and sicker.

@stillfighting1 I'm in the same situation as you. I gave Lyme disease to my wife and she passed it to my two children. I feel the guilt and it drives me crazy. I've had Lyme since the mid 1970's and was only diagnosed in 2007. Too late for any hope of a cure, but hopefully not too late for my family.

Johnny, Bart is serious stuff, and since each person is different, these infections affect everyone differently. To call Bart a "co-infection" is an injustice to what you're going through-Bart can be as rough or rougher on the body & mind as Lyme. Have you been tested for other tick-borne diseases? And what test(s) were done for Lyme? My 1st 2 Lyme tests were negative, then tested by LLMD, and results "lit up like a Xmas tree" (his words). Ticks can carry around 16 diseases that we can get.

It infects way more people and is just as pernicious in the end. I'd say that it's at least just as bad, it's just played down by insurance companies, CDC etc.. I'm fucking 31 and I can't even wax my car or mow the lawn. I'm basically bed ridden most of the time. It fucking sucks, and I can't get help. At least people with HIV can get help, and have doctors actually willing to help them.

By contrast, HIV patients have a red carpet rolled out for them; compassion, acknowledgement, inclusion, care, understanding, resources, support, a myriad of treatment options, oh, and then there is the contrast in funding. Several billion dollars. Lyme patients get next to nada. It's tragic and a huge failure of our current medical system(s) / community. Hence, I wish I had HIV instead of lyme disease.

@callednchosen i think you are a little misguided when it comes to the m obey issue. Many LLMD has to take cash instead of taking insurance due to the fact insurance companies hunt them down for treating lyme to shut them down after suing them for malpractice. the amount they charge isn't much at all comparing to any of your regular drs. they actually charge more than LLMD for a follow up appointment you have at your PCP or specialist. The only difference you never see the amount since it gets submitted directly to your insurance.

That's tough news to swallow, since I've been on an 11 month antibiotic treatment for Bartonella (lyme co-infection) According to my house doctor this treatment should have killed the bartonella, but he could be wrong...after this my specialist made me get a blood test for actual Lyme disease (boreliosis) I don't know what to believe anymore to be honest, opinions all differentiate too much

So its par for the course. Keep treating the lyme, but know that a herx reaction means its doing its work! It might take a while to get better, but hang in there. Wishing you all the best! Not everybody gets better, some even get worst with treatment. And most bio-molecular physiologists don't even think it can really be totally cured without leaving behind dormant spirochetes that can someday reinfect you. But advertising that fact to sick people gives them no hope. But I did get better for now. Thank you Ginger.

I would like to know if they are using pulse dosing with antibiotics. From what I've read it's something that is in testing still but effect because Lyme will lie dormant and rise again continuously which is why the common 4-6 week antibiotic dosing isn't a long term solution and not as effective in irradiating the spirochete.
@EnvitaMedicalCenter8 жыл бұрын
We don't do pulse dosing, but what we focus on is biofilm stripping. Normally the Lyme spirochete will go into hiding to evade antibiotics and the immune system by forming biofilm communities. We have specialized treatments which strip the biofilm making it harder for the spirochetes to evade antibiotics and the immune system.
@ChrisTopheRaz8 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you, I've learned about that since my last comment/question. That would make sense as well because the biofilm community the spirochete form, is one reason for why it was initially believed that pulse dosing was an answer to that. Am I correct? I'd like to learn more on how that biofilm is being broken down and how successful this treatment is.

Eleven months straight? My LLMD utilizes a "pulse therapy"--two months on, two months off (usually using a homeopathic remedy when not taking abx) along with supplements to combat the bugs and bolster my immune system. This is supposed to kill the active bugs w/o too much damage from overuse of abx. Being treated for 4 tick-related diseases (confirmed through his labs & labs at Columbia tick-borne research center) hitting 1 at a time, since no 1 abx will get them all. For what it's worth.

The graphics are great but the figures in their charts come from where? The reason for relapse is insufficient length of treatment. 6 weeks is just NOT enough and sometimes multiple courses are needed. Don't bash antibiotics. Plaquenil also helps them work better. Lots of ppl making $ off lyme patients by questionable methods who bash antibiotics.
