@@belialmyth7314 Because Kayle is a insane, merciless, inhuman zealot. The entire point of Kayle is that this type of absolute justice is incredibly destructive. Her authoritarian, unmoving justice is just a weapon of oppression, which is why Demacia, also authoritarian oppressive villains, prefer her. Morgana, the understanding, compassionate HUMAN of the sisters is the superior, more understanding, more fair, more helpful justice. Even if Morgana isn't perfect, Kayle is a flat-out villain.

the pixel art of this game is amazing, seeing so many champions i have known for so long again in a completely different context is always amazing. the spell stealing aspect is implemented really well and sylas became a really interesting character in an even more interesting story. im really glad riot forge is making these kinds of games possible.

His cause was right, but he was also the worst possible person to carry it out, kind of like Silco (or any revolution in history). Now, what reason does anyone have to NOT side with Sylas? Not killing Jarvan? I like him, but that's the only conflict left, the only reason why anyone would oppose the rebellion. It's also painfully obvious that after Riot milks their current Demacia setting, the next phase will be Jarvan being exiled, why not finish this story in mageseeker when everyone already knows how this goes. Sylas wins, he forgives everyone but Jarvan who has to run away, Jarvan learns humility and returns to demacia to help the new goverment fight the new threat.

i don’t like how the portrayals of violent uprising against abjectly horrible regimes by sylas is bad. on a smaller scale, seraphine had this issue of toothlessly unifying two states (and zaun is legitimately just being oppressed and it’s not a matter of ‘unification’ but fixing the systems) and i didn’t like these flat, centrist portrayals, so mageseeker is legitimately awesome! like i don’t really like lux’s position in the narrative so sometimes centering the whole mage/magic being stuff on her feels…wrong?

Sylas here is great because he went from a genuinely terrible representation of fighting against abhorrent systems into someone who just needed to learn he wasn't helping the people that mattered.

Frankly I loved how the game never really treats Sylas as unreasonable, of course the guy who spent most of his life in prison is violent, and the rebels and people around him know that! They understand the dude is dealing with shit, and that while a great fighter he is not a leader, and Sylas himself never lies, he is very open about being in the rebellion to kill mageseekers, and that lord guy. Only at the end does he get that yes, he also needs a plan for what to do when the revolution is done. Another thing i like, is that while the game shows peace is possible, it also shows that hiding somewhere and living in peace is not a viable plan, if anything it it shows than an opressive power structure will chase you to the ends of the earth, and that Sylas was not wrong for fighting, but rather was fighting for the wrong cause, and love even more that the game shows that the when fighting a rebellion you dont really have the freedom to choose only fighters fighting for a good cause, you get whoever you can get.

I did really like the detail at the end of the game how Jarvan did disband mageseekers and made the city Lux is overseeing be a safe haven for mages and how Garen changed his ideal because he realized he should care more about his sister than that of his home. It shows change can happen, you just need to accept it and let it happen. Also Sylas taking Rayn as a foster daughter was very cute to see.

I haven’t played it yet, but I am super excited to see the story. I have been waiting to see more of the mage revolution. I love Lux’s story so much, and shes in such a unique position and her relation ship to Sylas is just so complicated and I love it. I know this is about him, but I kinda want Lux to be publicly revealed as a mage and make Garen choose a side publicly. I know he is devoted to Demacia but I can’t imagine that he would turn on his sister. I want them to advocate for change through peace instead of Sylas’s destruction. It would also mirror some historical events.

Demacia is interesting in the fact that it didn't go down that line. On top of that people forget their response to other nations while they did everything for their citizens they didn't give a flying crap about the rogue barbarian tribes that Ashe and Tryndamere were fighting. They actually hindered them in their pursuits in their attempt to fix the situation.

I never saw that loading screen quote but if his overall characterization was less overtly villainous, it would actually feel much more deep. "Lux trusted Sylas. Now Demacians are dead." Like this is being said by some Demacian bigwig to Garen or something, like on one hand it's completely true but also twisting the reality of things so cruelly, but also it points towards how deeply scarring that betrayal was for Lux and even for Sylas himself. I'm sure he didn't want to kill insidcriminately but he probably saw no other choice.

TBH Sylas also has it twisted. He hates the nobility but in truth his real enemies are the Mageseekers, he's just too blinded by vengeance to see it. He thinks Jarvan's decree at the end was only done to save himself, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Jarvan fully intends to make changes in the aftermath.

I mean, I think the main thing I am looking forward to in Mageseeker was them fixing or strongly improving Demacia's lore. When the big lore change happened, turning Demacia from a "city of the good guys" into a place where mages and magical beings are persecuted for doing nothing wrong sounds like it leads to an interesting conflict, but it was very strange how the very heroic Demacia was now bunch of assholes who looked nice and pretty, but did nothing to help the oppressed around them + some members of the persecuted group who were relatively safe due to their proximity with authorities (Lux, Sona and Shyvana) and when they finally made a villain, the villain was the guy who wanted the mistreatment of mages to end? How is that guy a villain? He is the one doing the right thing, its like Riot forgot that this story has parellels to real life. Maybe they don't turn Sylas into an totally nice guy in the end, but it seems like they at least acknowledge that he is right in what he does and Demacia is in the wrong for their persecution. This is what makes me excited, lore being fixed and solidified through a cool game and things making sense in lore again (like, making oppressed groups' leaders as villains is a terrible implication).

Man Mageseeker finally gives us some lore expansion. We have been starved by riot for too long and now finally we can learn something more about the mage wars. As much as i hate league's RAT sylas I looooove his concept in a single player game. His normal kit is perfect for slasher/roguelike and now we can see how it really translates to that game. I didnt play it yet but I was watching my friend play it and it looks like so much fun. All the combos and special abilities and character development... I dont know a lot about mageseeker's story as I havent played it yet but i heard there was even some stuff about morg and kayle soooo it may be really fun. I really hope riot continues to give us more stuff outside of league. I feel like they try harder in their other projects. Tbh I am most excited about the gameplay. Recently I've been getting more into games like this one AND I NEED MORE. This game looks much better than Ivern's midscope. May the *original* buff sharing be with you. I'm so excited to be able to move through a world other than summoner's rift again. There are hundreds and hundreds of awesome fantasy environments that exist in Runeterra and Demacia is one of the first regions that had been fleshed out back in the early days of the game. For all the people who says that "Kayle is evil, Morgana is good". Neither of them is good or bad, you missed the whole point. They are meant to represent both ideas of justice that all of us have. For example: Someone could have stole some bread bc didn't have anything to eat. Anybody would think that it is not a big deal, and would side with Morg. Now, if someone molest children or even worse, you don't even care for their excuses, you just want them to pay for what they did. That's exactly what Kayle would do. I've seen some of the gameplay of Mageseeker and it looks really cool. I also am very excited to see morally-questionable-ish protagonists.

In the low low chance I can still get the code the reason I was so hyped for the game is just seeing Sylas done right, I like the idea of Sylas being somewhat of a jaded hero, ready to do whatever the fuck he needs to to fix the system he was born into.

The mageseeker released during the period when I was studying for exams and so I had no time to keep up with it. But from the bits I saw it seems like an awesome game with an equally awesome story which I would love to explore once my exams are over. Also, I love your content. ❤

im a sucker for pixel art games and this reminds me of a game called jack move, both modernize the pixel art style of old times and thats what really draws me in, along with the fact that the gameplay looks sick af!

I'm glad they took the chance to finish fleshing out Sylas's character in this game, as he needed it more than many champions with similar issues. that said, I find that both you and many people fundamentally misrepresent or misunderstand Demacia as a whole. most of the people of Demacia are either unaware of the extent of the horrors actually being done to the mages, and the evils of "Demacia" is more so just the majority of the mageseekers and several of the more radical nobles. it's also important to at least understand why Demacia is so scared of mages, even if it doesn't make their treatment of them right. they are not the "league equivalent to Nazis" by any stretch of the imagination, they are a nation built on an extreme fear of mages due to the horrors inflicted on not only their nation, but Runeterra as a whole, during the rune wars and the many mages who used their power to oppress those around them. Noxus and Demacia were largely both effected horribly by that past, but where Demacia sought to lock away magic(akin to the Templars in Dragon age), Noxus instead sought to control it and conducts many horrific experiments and raise child soldiers to be strong magic forces to help Noxus be even stronger. to paint Noxus as anything better than Demacia shows you don't know the lore of both of them. they are absolutely equals with 2 different radical Ideals. it worked with Sylas being a villain, it just didn't make Demacia right, however with the nature of league lore the progression to that story was put in stasis until extra content like this came out. Demacia needed a revolution, just not the one Sylas was bringing, and that was the way the story has been framed since his release. thankfully they did choose to push the story forward by having him realize this.

They’re still the nazi equivalent, having a reason to become nazis that makes sense doesn’t make them less nazi. Most Germany citizens didn’t question or bother to ask what was going on in concentration camps either

@micahbrinson7950 they aren’t the nazi equivalent lol, you could MAYBE argue the mageseekers are(not really, more of a KGB type), but at the end of the day, the view the public has of the mageseekers is entirely built around the false facade they is shown. Most do not even have a chance to attempt to know the truth. The nazi leader was not unclear about his plan to the people and primarily lead through fear, not ignorance. On top of this, there are mages within the ranks of the mageseekers which further convinces the public they aren’t ALL bad(also definitely not something the nazis would even consider entertaining). Even more, Nazis were briefed on what was happening to the Jews. They weren’t in the dark. Some did have their families threatened to keep them in line, but they were told the truth from the highest ranked officers, to the newest recruits. In demacia, even decorated mageseekers like Garen are actively kept in the dark and lied to about what happens to mages. The mageseekers are essentially a secret society that hides its dirty secrets from the public and runs in city from the shadows under the nose of even its leaders. It’s not like they have a king whose goal is to kill mages, even Jarvan is working to free them and fight the stigma that has been instilled in the people towards magic and creatures born of it. Before you try to water down a term like that about an actual historical atrocity, you should actually learn about it? You don’t really know the fully extent of it clearly and believe it was an unclear thing to the people, or even the world at large. Even through propaganda, the people knew but were methodically put in positions where they could not communicate with eachother without surveillance easily, and those who even dared to question were imprisoned, killed, or put in camps themselves. Do you know how many people there tried to hide victims in their homes cause they knew exactly what was happening? Do you know how many officers, businessman, citizens, etc risked their lives to try to save whoever they could? Before the first person was placed in a camp, the leader communicated to the world and the German people exactly what he was planning. Nobody believed him until it was too late, then tried to do what they could once they saw he was serious.

I was really excited for what spells Sylas would be able to be use in the game and what types of mages there are in Demacia! I like to see what different types of magic runeterra has to offer :3

i could not wait to see what the do with the character and his lore along with showing us how his rebellion has changed the world and how it come to be along with use getting to see Morgana not as evil like in a lot of her skins and getting to see the dark side of kayle
