The protective caps were originally intended for use by colour parties to prevent the colours snagging on the points.

How coincidental! I just picked up a C1 yesterday, and initially thought it was an L1A2, until I looked at the slot on the pommel. If it wasn't for your video, I would not have known.

Seems pointless sectionalising a scabbard, interesting but, I’ve never seen one before.

They look good on the end of a sectionised rifle, but I agree it is a bit pointless
