Why your kimonos are so expensive, you force your students to buy that to be uniqe, but your staff is almost 2 times more expensive than fuji or tatami etc. This is just business and not cool.

One year to Blue Belt seems a bit short. How good is that blue belt if he or she got it in a year?

Idk about other bjj training centers but mine has three or four different classes each with different curriculums. The class I take is called Gracie Jiu-jitsu: Combatives. We learn about 33 different techniques with each class period teaching us two of those techniques (aside from days specifically for reflex development) once we have gone through each class three times and have gone through all the required reflex development days (it take roughly eight months), we are eligible for our combatives belt (this is probably where my training center differs from others.) We test and if we pass we receive the belt. After that we have two options: hold on to the combative belt for seven months and receive the blue belt automatically, or we test again but this time for the blue belt itself. Imo it’s pretty reasonable bc we still have to test for the combatives belt (our gateway to blue) no matter how long we’ve done jiu-jitsu. Though like other places, you still have to be 16 to qualify

@@demon-misery7 According to the IBJJF, there is no minimum required time to be in white belt. It is at the professors discression. Gordon Ryan got his at 3 months.
