How many bullets/rounds from a pound of lead/powder

This gets asked a lot. Thought I'd cover it in a short video. Basically 7000 grains in a pound. Divide 7000 by the weight of the cast bullet, or powder charge if you are figuring total rounds.

Simple math..... I will say this the first number I memorized was 7000 grains

Excellent. I like to buy my big bore stuff so I don't need to use a pound of lead on 16 bullets. I don't do much casting but I have cast quite a few 90 grain .312 bullets for a 32 Colt Police I think. I powder coated them and loaded them into 67.62x25 brass. I can do a lot of shooting with a pound of lead. LOL

my wife found the hard way that 1k 9mm 122gr tc lead bullets weighs approx 30lbs in a small flat rate box, it was even funnier when the UPS guy dropped off my 1k+ .40 cal 180's and made it look easy.

Or you can get let’s say 12 lbs of 700x do the math it comes to 24000 9mm 115gr LRN cartridges.
