Equal parts oil shortening and flour, blend to smooth. Brush thoroughly all over the inside of the pan. Line bottom with wax paper, and cakes will come out perfectly! Round pans up to 12 inches, use coffee filters! They work great, come in a bunch of sizes and save so much time!

You line the pan that you're baking with wax paper?? I know it won't hurt you But I wouldn't think that wax melting would be good. Personally I would think parchment paper would be safer.

took a yellow cake mix added: 1 package of instant pudding mix - 4C chopped pecans - 1/2 C oil - 6 eggs - 1 - 1/2 C water - 1T vanilla - added 1. t baking powder - 1.t vinegar - bunt pan - 350 for 40 min - chocolate glaze

Look at the directions on the box. If its 2 eggs per box it would be 6 eggs. If its 1 cup of milk per box it would be 3 cups of milk.

HI THERE! Please tell us HOW LONG YOU HAVE TO BAKE IT!! I baked 2 cakes already using 3 boxes per cake, and they both came out horrible! They sank in the middle and were still raw, and that was in for 40 minutes! Not sure what I'm doing wrong. NEED TO DO THIS TODAY SO PLEASE HELP! LOL! :)

I have never had it sink in the middle like that. It sounds like maybe you haven't mixed the cake mix enough or your heat is not set right in your oven. I am thinking it is definitely more of a heat issue than anything else. Also, where are you placing your pan in the oven? It definitely needs to be in the center of the oven and I bake it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 30 to 40 minutes. You might have to bake it even longer if your oven temperature is not right. I know it does take longer to cook this size cake because of the extra amount of mix you are using. You also can't put anything else in the oven at the same time (as if you were baking multiple cakes). Hope this helps
