This definitely makes sense. In 2017 when I was 18 I was in a car accident and had a concussion then 36 days later right after I got cleared by the Dr, the top girl on my cheerleading team fell and broke my nose AND I hit the floor. They diagnosed me with a concussion at the hospital, just within those 36 days I had 2 different concussion diagnoses. I feel like if I hadn’t had the first one then I wouldnt have been so vulnerable the second. Not to mention the day right before my car accident I slipped at school and fell onto my back really hard and was having mild concussion symptoms that day. Practically 3 hard hits to my head in 36 days. I’m 22 now and suffer from horrible migraines and other medical illnesses, looking back and thinking I should have gotten checked more. I was completely healthy before those head injuries now I feel like my life is ruined..

Hey Kelly, how are you feeling this year? I can definitely relate to having two concussions within the same timespan. Although I hit my head quite a bit growing up, I can't definitively that I remember having concussion symptoms until I hit my head on January 10, 2021. I stood up and hit my head on a shelf. I had clear concussion symptoms for a week before I cleared up. I didn't think much of it until I hit my head about 80 days later. The second concussion left me with symptoms that have lasted until this day, coming up on 2 years soon. There hasn't been much progress, and since the second concussion I've had dozens more "concussions". I have a new "concussion" almost every month, and often 2x a month. This week, I got a concussion on Tuesday from running with over ear headphones. I recovered on Saturday (today), but today I made some quick head movements, and I'm now experiencing a reemergence of symptoms, which will likely last days. I also feel as if my life is ruined sometimes. I've moved to the stage of acceptance where I believe that my life will never be the same, and I'm kind of okay with that. At the same time, I don't have much of a drive to live. I haven't done my due diligence pursuing medical help, but I hope to get an MRI done in 2023. Most doctors do not know how to approach these issues, and it makes sense considering each brain injury is often quite unique. The most insight I've got from a doctor is essentially that I should do my own research because "most doctors don't know anything about how to specifically treat these sort of concussion symptoms." I'm half-heartedly looking into the nutritional & exercise related advice about concussions, specifically an anti-inflammatory diet. I also need to regulate my sleep so that I strictly sleep a certain amount of hours. I'm a similar age as you, almost 22. I hope that in the next few years I can really structure my life in a way that I can pursue happiness. It helps to write and say these things. I may not be able to experience the same types of things anymore, but at least I can experience life in a different way. Of course, not a day goes by where I don't consider suicide, although I can't say I've really done much to pursue that option.
