This was very informative, I'm always super interested in shiny hunting math and statistics. Wanted to share a fun shiny hunting math thing I found out a while ago. Back when Dallas was going into crazy numbers with his Registeel hunt, I coded up a quick binomial distribution thing that would tell you how likely you were to find 0 shinies within n encounters (although I later realized there are plenty of binomial formula calculators online so I didn't need to make one, but that's neither here nor there). I was basically using it to see how unlucky he was getting, but a neat thing I found out when experimenting is that the "half way" point (in terms of luck) for 8192 odds is 5678, easy number to remember lol. Basically there's a 50/50 chance of going under/over 5678 encounters in an 1/8192 hunt. Not super useful info but I thought it was neat.
