How Many Float Paths Do I Specify in Primavera P6, When Using Multiple Paths?

Great video, but which float paths (or part of the various float paths) are par of the driving or critical path for a specific activity somewhere in the "middle" of the programme?

Please clarify...not sure I get what you're asking. Float Path 1 is typical the driving critical activities from the start of the schedule to specified activity or milestone.

@@PlanAcademy Hi and thanks for your reply. Happened more than once that the driving/critical path included activities belonging to more than one float path and not only those in Float Path 1. Realized that tracking back (trough driving/critical activities) from the activity to the 1st. Some of them were in other float paths (not only in Float Path 1). So, how do I spot all the critical activities belonging to other float paths?

Why there are times when a completed activity showed up in a float path?

I wouldn't expect this so this is strange behaviour, and maybe a bug? If an activity is completed, then "Total Float" is empty as well as "Free Float". Those fields should be empty, meaning they should not show on a float path. I would check if Total Float and Free Float are empty for your activity. Maybe there is a resource with some "remaining units" ? Is the activity marked "completed"? and Activity Status = "Completed"? Things to check.

If it says no float path is that simply because it is, for example, on float path 11 where you’ve only asked P6 to calculate flu paths one through 10?
