The easiest ones are the date based ones: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, Halloween. The hardest in the UK are the temperature based ones.

142 badges. Love the challenge to collect them. One of my hardest, other then doing my 1st marathon, was for doing 10,000 steps every day for 60 days.

So fun to watch their good natured competition! I don't really focus on the badges much, but I love the Garmin step challenges. I was in a really competitive group years ago that would sneak in steps right up until midnight. Many nights I'd be walking circles in my condo, sometimes while eating a bowl of ice cream, knowing I was within a few hundred steps of someone else! 😆

This is me on my weekly step challenge. I will go on a 10 pm the last day of the challenge if I know I can move up a rank or two. Healthy competition is the best

16 mins watching video, 10 mins scrolling through phone, checking out badges. The strangest badge, is the Zombie badge, popped up on my phone and I hadn't a clue what I did to get it. My proudest badge, has to be the marathon badge, while the Frosty one was one of the toughest.

There are some super easy ones that you can collect exactly like Sarah did with her few seconds walk as you just have to track something, no matter what, on a certain day or time. And some easy ones are helpful to just get you started and to try out different features of garmin connect. The ones I find really helpful and motivating are the ones with a specific goal for the month or a certain week(end). Sometimes those get me moving when I wasn't really feeling like doing anything
@KO478932 жыл бұрын
I've had my Garmin Account for four months now, and I have 62 badges so far. They're super motivating, especially some of the time sensitive ones like doing a three mile walk during a specific weekend. I don't normally go for walks that long, but I will for a badge. 😁
@krehme2 жыл бұрын
I love the badge challenges. The only competition is your own resolve to get the job done! I’ve been gathering badges for many years now and I still find them good motivation to keep the drive going. Level 6 so far… 607 points to level 7.

For years I wanted to get the Night Owl or "I am the Night" badge (record an activity between 10pm and 4am). I don't live in the sort of place where you want to be outside running at those ungodly hours. Thanks to Sarah's idea I now know what to do. Also because of the lockdowns, I got the idea of running around my garden for exercise. I now just need to record a run or walk with my Garmin at night.

There's a vid of Sarah running back and forth in her backyard to so a full marathon. Absolutely bonkers!

The I am the night badge is for ANY activity done after 10 pm .. so I got mine for a Relax and Focus breathwork session to get ready for sleep .. it dont have to be for a walk or a run ... Asme for the early riser, got my garmin for christmas just gone so mornings are still too cold and dark so a nice yoga/pilates or weights session ?

This video reminds me of the old Harry Belafonte song "Man Smart Woman Smarter." Also got me thinking about my badges, I looked and I've earned 42 so far this year, so not at the TRC level obviously. Great fun watching this one.

I never thought I would benefit from a smart watch until I picked up a Garmin Instinct 2 last month. Getting the badges has been a great motivation to be active and this month they have a Disney badge for doing 10k steps a day for 10 consecutive days. Great fun and your video was fun to watch. I subscribed and I am a proud Garmin badge collector!

Badges any way you can, huh? I’m currently at an amusement park with my daughter and her friends. I got ditched a few hours ago so I’m just walking around. So far 5.5 miles of walking and I’ve still got 7 hours to go. I don’t know if NOT vomiting at an amusement park is a badge but it should be. The food is not very good. Well done, you two.

Glad the tactics weren't too naughty. I have a friends list full of people who exploit the repeatable "Challenge Champ" badge by doing challenges against a fake person. Garmin got wise and limited it to 250 repeats but I still have a friend with nearly 10k badge points while I'm at an honest 152 points.

I love my Garmin Fénix 6S but I don't bother much with badges, really. I do an activity every day, it can be a run or cycling or swimming, and some days I do brick sessions (two activities back to back), so I guess I could have collected quite a few 😀 . I'm wondering Sarah, I see you're using the Garmin Epix, how do you feel regarding it's size. I'm considering buying the Garmin Fenix 7 (same size as the Epix), a size up from the 6S that I have now, but I'm a bit worried about the thickness during sleep.

I actually really loved this video! I found it such a fun and cool concept, and it got me excited to get out there and chase some badges myself :) It's important to remember that channels need revenue to keep going, and that they don't have to cater to our every desire. Personally, I'm happy they're able to be sponsored, since it means I get to keep watching great content. It's okay if you don't love this particular type of content, but it's also okay to keep it to yourself and simply watch something else.
@caroliinalopes2 жыл бұрын
@Gary Murphy Higgins I hate to break it to you, but you're really not entitled to anything... creators are obliged by law to disclose clearly when a video is sponsored - if that's enough for you, then you can simply go watch something else... no one is forcing you to watch something you don't like/trust/want to rely on. It's up to you as a consumer to choose where you seek specific information. It's not up to a channel to refuse sponsorships because some random people don't like them. They can't pay their team, otherwise. It's really quite entitled of you to demand something like this.
@caroliinalopes2 жыл бұрын
@Gary Murphy Higgins "we are entitled to independent advice on products" - that's where you mentioned entitlement. To which I replied, you're entitled to nothing from a creator. If you're not saying they should refuse promotion, yet you say the promotions are ruining their channel, then what exactly is the point of your comment?

I dont really care about the badges. I do not understand why some find them inspirational. I have 100+ badges, but have no idea if its "good" or "bad". It does not affect/interfere with my training or training plans.
