For anyone curious, if you reel the rod with the B button instead of A, it makes it so Froggy will notice the lure. Then once he bites, just jut the control stick downwards to hook him. Easy.

If you don’t pay attention to how to use Big you will end up wasting a lot of time, it’s a shame too because it’s a pretty straightforward simple short story if you do know how.

Will give you one thing you missed in Sonic's story though. For Egg Viper's first hit, there's a very frame perfect trick where you can light speed attack cancel and it'll both hit the boss and return Sonic to the platform. Props for doing every story tho.

Pro tip about Chaos 2: If you punch Chaos while he's in that 'flubber' form, you can actually send him backwards into the walls and that will end his phase more quickly

1:13 hello world I don't really have any experience with the other characters given I spent so much time figuring out sonic and as such I don't have any optimizations. That said, well done on tackling this beast and good luck with doing SA2 jumpless. I know a few stages are doable jumpless from experience but I'm not even sure where I'd begin with the mechs.

Fun fact about Twinkle park as Amy. If you exit the stairs from just the right angle, going around the pool to put yourself at the switch closest to the door last, Zero won’t spawn in. I learned this on my A rank attempt, which not having Zero complicate things does make the process of mental juggling a lot easier.

Another little interesting but involving hot shelter, while I’m at it. The last block puzzle, if you reserve the block you have to reserve the spring you use for last, then Zero will Despawn and not respawn so long as you don’t get a certain distance from the door you need to go through, making getting rid of the monkeys the only stress management pertinent to the balloon. Take a wild guess what mission I was trying to beat to figure this out. I’ll give you three guesses.

Another possibility to get rid of overworld related jumps (namely the one related to, guess who, Amy). I don’t know if this works mid campaign, but stopping and restarting the game usually puts you back at Station Square. If it does work mid campaign, that likely means you can skip Amy’s single jump outright.

E-102 Gamma proves it's the best character by being the only one capable of completing one of the first six stories without jumping. It's a shame about Amy, Knuckles, and Tails who only needed 1 jump each for seemingly lame reasons, though.

I'm not sure if it's the case in the NTSC version but in the dreamcast version of Adventure, you can actually control the Egg Walker, if you press the Y button, it's able to cycle Eggman to his next attack, meaning you can beat him fairly quickly

LOL You kept the Japanese Dreamcast features on like the cowgirl sign in Casinopolus and Sonic's stretchy shoes. Personally I just turn off Sonic's stretchy shoes and have him use the Dreamcast model with Gamecube textures. Thank you modding team! Also you have the song swap feature on. For years people thought Open Your Heart playing on the first half Sounded odd as after you've been destroying him he comes back with a more ominous song playing. Big's levels take like 2 seconds because you just press a button when foggy bites the hook to put him in the catching thing the fish do automatically, and he can't escape once in that mode, the game tells you this in the controls

At 20:58 there is a button that big is unable to land on without jumping. Maybe it’s similar to the button Amy had to land on and pressing A in the air would remove whatever invisible wall or whatever was stopping you.

I know this from speedruns of Amy's story: you can skip both staircases with a well-timed hammer jump that lands you DIRECTLY in the vent. It's hard, but you can skip jumps on both the stairs to shave off frames because that's slower than just landing the hammer jump. (and the second is a huge time loss if you miss it because you have to push the staircase halfway to hop in.) Also you can chain a hammer jump from a jump or fall, because if you land from a jump or fall while holding a direction there's a scant handful of frames where you can chain it back to a hammer jump. What happened with the debug mode thing might actually have been a clipping thing where the game thought you landed onto the "ground" (actually part of the staircase's side collision that you clipped past and fell from) and allowed you a split-second hammer jump back up), so I'm counting it as a skipped jump too. I've done some dodgy stuff on the dreamcast with Amy's hammer jumps while I was running time trials. (Oh, and Amy can hit Zero with the hammer jump too, since it IS an attack, it's just a bit odd to use because the attack hitbox moves around through the animation. ...at least, on the Dreamcast.)

Funny thing with Tails Casinoopolis and Sky Deck: Sonic's AI literally can't beat the stage without Tails being nearby, so you don't really need to chase him in those stages. In Casinoopolis he can't load the fans and in Sky Deck his object loading radius is too small to load most platforms

How about sonic adventure 2 next for a minimum jump challenge? Do the hero story and if it goes well, do the dark story. I know the mech stages will be a pain and same thing with knuckles but you may get lucky wit the ring and not have it take so many jumps to get the emerald pieces. If I do remember correctly if you spin around and melee you get a vertical attack which may help reduce jump numbers

You must have had a mod that switches the final boss music. Usually, it's Open Your Heart first, then the dramatic instrumental music. The order you described is much better though.
