I did this. I did bike deliveries in San Francisco in the beginning of the pandemic 😂. I nearly killed myself trying to get to the top of Twin Peaks twice in one day with giant bags of food, plus 5 more crazy climbs (Nob Hill, Potrero Hill, Diamond Heights, etc.) It took me 2 weeks to recover. PS I should note that the streets in SF get up to 43.5%, it's no joke. I broke my pedal off once pushing so hard, but that fortunately wasn't on a delivery.

Rowley Bar, the world's hardest 6/10 climb! Superb effort, this video brings back some great albeit painful memories of riding in the Peak District.

Crazy how 100 turned out to be 20, and then 18. Using the same logic I attempted 80 of the 100 toughest climbs lazing on the couch all day, but by evening I ran out of time.

Yeah why not call it "I tried to ride 20 of the thoughest climbs in the UK", honestly, I've seen people do 20 climbs in the Ardennes in a day, it's hard but at least not used a car!

Well done - love this video and excited for the series. I’m chasing down the 100 club and it took me 4 rides to tick off all of those in your 1 day. 👏 gearing definitely very naive, 36-32 or less needed for those back to back climbs. Unless you are a beast

I both love and hate now living in the Peaks. The views and climbs are incredible, but all my rides tend to be pretty slow, short and exhausting compared to my old ground of Nottinghamshire.

Completely agree, it's not an easy place to enjoy an easy spin!

Great Job Sam, and what a coincidence meeting you at the end of your day on that beautiful peek at sunset. See ya mate, Trevor

I've done Pym's Chair a couple of times. It's one of the most brutal around the Peak District. You missed out the Corkscrew which is half way along near the church - 40% cobbles.

Bloody good effort and I do feel your pain! I was running a 39-25 biggest gear! ‘Wimping out’ with a 36-28🤣! I do need a 34-32 though!! Hills are getting harder at 55!

New Utegra has 34-34. It has renewed my climbing ability at 55.
@richcrompton68912 жыл бұрын
@@zodgzod thanks Charles, I’m such a sucker for pain, I’m doing it by small increments! I do a hilly ride that ends in my ‘favourite’ toughie. It’s only 240m elevation, but it’s 25% at the top and not exactly long leading up to that! I’m just about to pop as I crest the top, so a slightly easier gear might just do it for now. I hope 🤣
@zodgzod2 жыл бұрын
@@richcrompton6891 I did that. Stuck with a 28T for too long, then when I treated myself to the new Ultegra, I realised I should make the move and I’m happy I did. I can still pretend I have a 10 speed 11-27 cassette. I actually do that to keep the really big cogs for emergency big hills.

Matlock isn’t that far away from me and there’s no a chance I could get up these climbs on 38/28 they’re hard enough on 34/32 but then I weigh about 85 kilos and enjoy having working knees and lower back

Amazing!! I did a bit of climbing while in the UK earlier in the year. To quote my father in law, "England doesn't have big mountains but it has some pretty big hills!" Did you keep track of the total meters climbed in your day?

I was using the new Garmin Edge 1040 Solar. Ended up working perfectly in terms of battery life and also pacing efforts on the hill climbs
