9:00 I feel like the length of a chapter also depends on how often you release a chapter. if you release a chapter weekly then you can get away with 6-10 pages but if you release a chapter every few months 6-10 pages wont be enough to keep the reader hooked for several more months just see the next chapter.
@kingmanga85758 жыл бұрын
11:25 the first chapter is usually used to get the reader familiarized with the setting and characters of the manga. what I've gathered from watching 100's of manga/comic book/novel writing videos is that you should have an idea of the end of your story, or at least the end of the first arc/saga of the story. once you've done that make up events that lead to end of the arc/saga. then evenly space the events between however many chapters you want to be in the arc/saga, because there's nothing worse than reading a book that has everything happening in chapter 1 then practically nothing happening in chapters 2-5 then the end of the story in chapter 6.
@MyMangakaLIFE8 жыл бұрын
+King Manga8 a 6-10 page chapter is...extremely short, dear. Those do exist, but I'm refering to a published work. I fell that you may be referring to webcomics or something.
@MyMangakaLIFE8 жыл бұрын
+King Manga8 Absolutely :) If you watched my other videos, you'd see I've already covered that one should know what the ending of their stories should be before ever starting their manga. Once you have an ending in mind, only so many things can take place that will lead to the ending of your story (making it easier for a writer to plan out what will take place in their story) For more information, please take a look around my playlists :)

Ever since I've found your videos I've been wanting to make my own manga. Today I decided that I'm going to make a Japanese course through manga. I know this has kind of been done already, but the way I'm planning to do it is super exciting to me. Like, it's not gonna be boring, generic lessons, but real readable, interesting stories with fully fleshed out characters, and the story is just gonna get more complex as the readers learn more Japanese :3 Now I just have to learn to draw better haha

I love your channel so much! I remember stumbling across your first video last year while I was trying to know more about Mangaka and stuff. Seeing your channel now, I can see the growth and love you put in each of these videos. Most importantly it's how you've stayed true to yourself and all your hard work that inspire people. You are literally a GREAT INSPIRATION and GREAT HELP to sooooooo many of us. Please don't ever stop your wonderful work. At a time when the world of a mangaka seemed to be out of reach, you came in like a shining light! 🌟 This is by far the best manga/drawing channel on KZbin ever! You're going to have a great success as an artist and also as a KZbinr in the future that's for sure. Wishing you happiness and success in whatever you do - with loads of love❤️❤️❤️💕

I found this channel only recently but it has quickly become one of my favorites. I really love that you’re making a video on planning chapters because it’s a topic I’m very interested in and uncertain how to approach it. I really hope you expand on this topic in the future. Here are some aspects that I’m interested in learning about. a) How many scenes to have in each chapter b) How to transition between scenes c) How many chapters to have in each volume d) How to balance out the amount of text and illustration to create a chapter that equals one TV episode e) How to decide the number of images needed to portray actions and put them together in a good sequence f) How to make illustrations and speech balloons poking through to other panels while making sure to maintain a good flow and clarity g) How to make page-turns more interesting (using good page-to-page transitions, keeping the reader’s attention, building anticipation, making sure that the placement of visuals in a page does not spoil what’s coming next, and maintaining flow)
@MyMangakaLIFE8 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for appreciating this video, dear ♡ And I'm so glad to know that you are so interested in learning more about the process of cretin a chapter etc. However, the more genres your read and the more styles you expose yourself to, you'll notice that there is no one easy if doing anything. Each artist has their own unique storytelling style and each one decides how to transition between scenes, balance out pages, composition etc. There isn't a formula. This is art and it changes from artist to artist. The only way to know if you're doing it "correctly" lies in the success of your storytelling. Your reader should not feel lost or feel like they've missed some crucial detail due to the author's inability to tell a story. One needs to have outsiders read over their work and offer their critique to be sure that their work can be understood by others :) Good luck ♡

Is there any point in time where you become 100% content with your scripts?Like,I'll be finished with a whole chapter then a week later I'd want to re write it all and the cycle continues....
@jilliancrawford75777 жыл бұрын
No No No That's Not It In my experience, a creator can become content with imperfection or at least aim for that much--every artist of any kind of their own worst critic and will always find something they want to do better, but you'll never get your story told if you're always worried about it being 99% perfect instead of 100% perfect. There are stories that were written without enough time to polish and perfect (For example, if I'm not mistaken, Hitchhiker's Guide Through the Galaxy was mostly written in one day because the writer kept procrastinating until the manuscript deadline was within a matter of hours.) so although it's good to make sure you don't do something like that, it's okay to create something imperfect and thus not to worry about achieving that 100% satisfaction. Sorry that I'm not the person you're asking, but I still wanted to share my two cents ^^'.

OMG, I missed you so much! Thank you so, so much for another tutorial! it's so good to know you're still well. *giggle* Luckily, I've explored these answers in the video. I've made note of what a writer I've messaged a while ago about the prescene of my story. I've looked for animes and mangas that have the same genre I feel my story has and I've estimated how many chapters and pages I needed for each volume and I managed to make synopses of each chapter in each volume, making 10 volumes total! I personally don't know if I did it correctly but for me, it works how I've done it.

+My Mangaka LIFE D'awwwww, I feel so loved~ 💗 I'm so happy you're OK, makes me feel like all is right in the world. ^^ But you carried out your lesson wonderfully. I think the younger potential mangakas are understanding what exactly the next steps are so GL (good lesson). ^^ Also, I have a burning question of mine and possibly others. When you have a pretty good idea of what you want to do with each chapter in each volume, should you ask for a critique to see if the plot for each chapter needs more editing, less editing, ect.?

the one thing I have trouble with is figuring out whether I should draw a full shot picture or an upclose picture. im always afraid of doing too many of either one. :/

I got a very good start on my story but I just can't get the rest of my story written because I keep thinking about a lot of different things to write. I do have a best friend who i talk to once in a awhile and he gave me a good idea about a magical item that would make his character will be a human but with fox ears and tail and he wants to be a shape shifter. My character is a normal human who finds a magical kingdom and becomes half fairy half fox(vixen for female foxes) but I haven't got to that part yet😡! Do yo have any ideas for me?

This is amazing information~! I'm pretty close to the end of the conflict/climax of my story but I'm kind of stuck in it lol. So while I'm stuck at it, I'm in the process of revising my story and having my friends play editor for me. Is it strange that... my first chapter appeared to be half (or a little more than that) the length of the future chapters? O: It's like... 16 pages long PFFFT. Well, that was in the prototype version of my story I drew YEARS ago. xD I'm not sure how long my new first chapter is now since I haven't started drawing it yet, but it feels it might be about the same amount as the old one. :'D

you know what I'm so happy I found this episode because even though I finished five chspters (written not drawn) I wasn't sure how good I was doing even after my friends said they loved it. for example the beginning arc was only five chapters to introduce the first couple of main characters and now imma write the next are which will go hand in hand with the first arc and will reveal something for the main character later on......imma writing too much I apologize loll but after watching ur video I had am idea of what to fix and im acuatlly happy with what I did :-) so thank you so much for making this video and all your other videos as well I hope to make good manga in the future

I know you are a big Doukyuusei fan, so I am reaching out to you. Do you know if it is going to be translated any time soon? I have search everywhere I can think of, but I no luck. I am so excited that is finally released, and I can't wait.

Oh my goodness, I WISH they'd translate more if Nakamura sensei's work :( As it is right now, only one or two of her Manga are in English... all her best work is in Japanese TT__TT but I'll keep you all posted if that changes! ♡

hi lizbeth i would like to know more about how to write a script please Would I have to go: Ann: *Sighs* It's a nice day out. Bob: Yeah I know..*Looks up at the sky* OR Ann and Bob sat unoccupied under a nearby tree in their backyard. They never really did much during the summer and it was rare to find a day where it wasn't raining or clouding up outside. Ann sighed, "It's a nice day out." She looked up at the sky for a bit then turned to Bob who was still looking up at the sky awkwardly. "Yeah, I know."

+๕أєℓ ρђåйţ๏๓ђΐνє I would do a combination of the two: Ann and Bob sat unoccupied under a nearby tree in their backyard. They never really did much during the summer and it was rare to find a day where it wasn't raining or clouding up outside. Ann: *Sighs* It's a nice day out. Bob: Yeah I know..*Looks up at the sky* This is the format that I personally use because it allows me to make notes on important details and when ever I read it, like when I read a novel, it will bring me back to the scene and the moment in the writing. I hope I was able to help! :D
