I really want to make a manga/Comic in the future. I am now writing the story down then I’ll move on the the script. As for my drawing, I’m not at the level I want to be yet. 😅 I know it’s going to take some time and I will take any advice you give me to heart. Thank you Mama Mushroom! 💛💛💛💛🤗🤗🤗🤗💛💛💛

Don't worry, sweetie!💕 You'll reach a point where you feel more confident and are ready to begin~ I started mine when I was like 85% ready😂 Wasn't used to working quickly, wasn't used to quills, etc. but by the end of vol.1 I felt more confident and I had drawn hundreds of pages so I had gone lots of practice 😂 So be patient and just have fun with it💕 +Ladybug Foreva

This may be something that applies most to digital artist, but I've found that asking "what can I make into a brush" has helped--I have a character with super curly hair and found a way to make said curls into ribbon and particle brushes for CSP, so it helps. I can put in the time and effort into making the brushes so that it can make it easier to recreate the things needed. The character's hair would normally take maybe 3 hours if I did it every time, but making the brush for myself allows it to take a few seconds--the effort in the right places with the right tools allows me to be efficient.

@@hodanjama6925 Aww thank you for commenting! I am so glad to know the idea is helpful!! Three years since this comment and I still try to ask myself this question and make drawing so much easier! Anywhere from brushes of pieces of popcorn and rubble to seamless tiles of detailed mansion tiles or obnoxiously detailed wallpaper has saved me a lifetime of work and maintaining consistent quality! Bets of luck on your journey in making your own projects easier!!

You probably get this a lot, but this video came at the perfect time! I just started building up a following on social media (very small, but I'm also very grateful) and I'm starting to tease my Ameri-Manga (if that's what to call it XD). I've only gotten the first 2 chapters planned out, but then dropped from there. This series has been very helpful, I have nearly all your videos in a playlist!😁

fun fact, according to one of the people who worked on the prince of tennis manga, they would use photos of real buildings and trace over them. it's pretty interesting how convincing it looks like a professional either way. what happens is a photo of the building is printed. then it's flipped and traced on the back side. then that line work gets photocopied, and then flipped. i can't remember if it's traced again, but it's good to know.

Yeah, most just use the photos as reference but tracing has been known to happen in order to meet deadlines set by publishers :) Some digital artists go as far as just copying and pasting the actual photos to their pages, which is legit the laziest thing ever LOL but I guess it get the job done XD +Tom Tinker

I have a general outline and an end goal in mind and than break down the chapters as I go. Keeping to enjoying the journey. Even with using digital, high detail characters take way too much time and readers only see it for a short momment. I rather spend that time on full illustrations.

In my video on overcoming writers block and how to wrote a story, I talk about having a general idea of the plot and an ending in mind (it helps you stay on track and build a stronger plot). But be careful while writing your chapters. If you watch my 1st video on how to make manga, I HIGHLY recommend writing out 19 chapter before starting (to make sure you Ave details ironed out and you won't regret choices later etc.) +cetriya's Art n Comics Channel

Really liked the video! There is one thing I want to ask though. With the doing one page per day thing if you work on one page that's not finished yet then go work on another that's simpler then go back and work on the unfinished one wouldn't you over exert yourself by trying to do that each day?
@MyMangakaLIFE
@MyMangakaLIFE 6 жыл бұрын
LOL not at all, dear XD Trying to finish an overly detailed page (like the one I showed you in the video) would be HORRIBLY draining and the page's quality would be comprised. It's better to work on a difficult page little by little and then focus the rest of my energy on a simpler page 😄 And also, I do this for a living and can create 5-11 pages a day LOL But will only do this when the deadline is really close. I prefer creating only 1-3 pages a day~ +Mr.Sonicteam121

On page quotas, one thing to really consider is the type of comic you’re doing. Is it weekly, like shounen jump, monthly, like marvel, or is it a webcomic where you can do 1-3 pages a week?
@MyMangakaLIFE
@MyMangakaLIFE 6 жыл бұрын
Well, when I mentioned the 1 page a day quota, I wasn't saying this as a recommendation. If you remember, I was saying this was my personal quota for my publication. In my video I said they shouldn't try to cmplete an unrealistic number of pages a day and to simply think about how many pages they'd like to complete per week. +Sebastian Sean Crow

Inspiration is one thing and getting ideas from others is another. You do NOT want to read other people's work to get ideas :/ You may create something very unoriginal or accidently copy someone... that's terrible for you and them. I can honestly say I've written since I was 4 years old and nothing I've ever written was inspired by other people's work. I was inspired by my life and people I met. I simply come up with ideas. It's hard to explain in a message like this, but I covered this in a few videos that I believe will help you♡ Please watch my videos on how to creating characters, my video on developing your story, and my video on overcoming writers block :) You can find them all in my "How to Make Manga" playlist and my "Writing Tutorials" playlist ♡ +redyuki121

One way to get a lot of comicking done is doing the 100 Days if comics challenge lol

Oooh, I absolutely hate challenges like the "100 days of comics" thing ^__^;; They focus more on quantity of work rather than quality. You can't learn good working and drawing habits if your only focus is "how many can I get done for this challenge?" I'd rather people focus on quality and follow a realistic working schedule. Know what I mean? +Sebastian Sean Crow

Oooh sweetie, you just need to stay focused and not get distracted. Unfortunately, there are no tips for gaining willpower and dicipline- You just need to want set your mind to the task and do it. Have fun and good luck, dear! +Pain4u

As Mama-Mushroom pointed out, there's no shortcuts to discipline... It's tough, but you do have to make up your own mind on it. It does NOT have to be a long hard road, either though. You CAN try setting a particular time every day that you WILL WORK. Use a simple alarm clock, nothing too fancy or expensive, to keep track of your work time. You can also try "clearing the work space" for your "work time". That's just a matter of physically getting rid of the "pointless distractions" as much as you can. So if you're tempted by the internet, shut down the wifi. If you have a problem with watching TV instead of working, turn the thing off, or move to a different room... that sort of thing. Okay, you probably can't just get rid of everything, but you CAN remove some or most of the bigger problems at their sources... Focus builds as you reward and cultivate it in yourself. That means, start with a realistic goal, even only ten minutes a day, and build on it as you get into the habit. It won't spontaneously happen overnight, but as you repeat the good habit of "getting to work" you can reward yourself with something you'd rather distract yourself with when you're officially "off work" especially at times you've ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING... Yes, it's tough in the beginning. Miyamoto Musashi, THE kensei in Japan, said, "All things are difficult in the beginning." SO... that's pretty normal. Have a little faith in yourself and the way the world generally works. Don't forget to breathe, relax (at least from time to time) and keep on keeping on. YOU CAN GET THERE FROM HERE! :o)
