Lets take a look at the basics like measuring buildings, pitch and such while using that to help design a system using software. Both easy PV and ElectricalOM.
Also an interesting look at volt drop on a solar system and some of the challenges with that.

Just a layperson here but why not put as many as will fit? Panels are cheap, the main cost is fitting and scaffolding so the incremental cost to add (say) an extra 2 or 4 panels when the installer is already there is in the big scheme of things, irrelevant. The extra panels will also extend useful output into the shoulder seasons of the year eg April and September (and maybe even March and October) Also, especially with tariffs that give higher export rates plus off peak cheap rates, it nowadays often makes no sense to use of the any solar you generate , export everything and import into a battery at night on cheap rate. Doesn'tt work if you don't have off peak rates of course. FWIW my G99 came through in 3 days !! The installer said i was likely to get it as theres little solar around here but this was still much quicker than I (or them) expected..

This was the maximum space for panels on the roof here. We have to leave space around the edges. The install video is the one prior to this

@@electrician247 mine was more of a general point to put as much on as you can at install time.

@@Joe-lb8qn got you. Yeah absolutely. Sometimes the max G99 can cause an issue with inverter sizing to accommodate that. But export limitation generally covers that.

Great vid. I notice the I PSC min of 277a with Z ir of 0.63 is adjusted to .95 of value and then to .80 to make 277- (I calculate it to be 365 a) why so on a meter when we do it from actual figs using the osg? Always learning from your channel!

The value is user selectable on the meter. However on a system without load it’s never going to be at operating temps so the safety factor of 80% should be used. The 100% values are primarily for use during design. Thanks

But thought you should always use the highest regarding fault currents but getting my head around it slowly

Great video. On a side note have you fitted many All In Ones? I’ve just had a company visit for a quote and they say they don’t install them as they are having loads of problems! Is that your experience or not?

We have fitted a fair few and not a single problem at all. Can’t say the same for other well known products sadly

@@electrician247 cheers pal. For some reason they outright said no. I thought it would be the case it’s OK as I haven’t found anything bad said!!!

@@CC_FPV they are perhaps not approved installers of that product so can’t issue the 12 year warranty program. You can always find complaints on the internet about most stuff lol. But my experience of these has been very good. Got one in my own home.
