Dear Laura, I don’t make quilts, but I’ve been doing counted cross stitch for many years. I turn them into quilted wall hanging. On some, I put pockets at the bottom for mail or greeting cards. My family and friends love them. Although I’m a senior, I’ve learned so much from your videos. Especially, those on sewing machine feet. Thank you so much. We’re never to old to learn.

It's worth investing in the right presser feet for the right tasks, it makes your items look much more professional and sewing is both easier and more satisfying.

Miss Laura, I have both of these feet for my Husqvarna Viking machines. I love my edging foot so much when I make bags I have a back up. But I really wanted to tell you how amazing you look today in this video. Your hair is fabulous, and just an overall stunning look. As always thank you for your teachings and taking your time to teach us. Jon

I’ve used the Edge stitch foot for all these purposes, but especially to sew the odd pieces of batting together. I used to work in the industry, and would always promote the purchase of an Edgestitch Foot to my students, or anyone who asked what foot I couldn’t do without. Great tutorial as usual. Thank you 😊

Thanks for such a great explanation. I have had a terrible time trying to figure out what feet are appropriate for what- and I LOVE the fact that you didn't even use your sewing machine! Making the foot glide along showed everything beautifully. If I'm not mistaken-- you wrote a book years ago - with Stitch in the Ditch-- which I still use!! Thanks for a very valuable lesson in 'feet'!!

Hi Laura! I have learned so much from You and Your video tutorials! I do have a question regarding some of My feet for My machine-it’s a Brother SE625- I understand if You aren’t familiar with this particular machine but again, the question is about feet- Can You tell Me what the little knob that is at the back of some feet and has a little spring that can be pushed in is for, it doesn’t seem to stay in when You just push it in but I just don’t understand the purpose of it!!!!Do You know what I’m talking about??? Thank You for Sharing!-Marie
@Bonnieruble3 жыл бұрын
I also have a brother. If it is what I think you’re talking about, when you push the little button behind the foot it releases the foot so you can change the presser foot. If that’s not correct, let me know.
@MarieH5283 жыл бұрын
@@Bonnieruble No; Thank You Bonnie- what I'm talking about is on The Individual feet that we change, at the left back of the foot, maybe You never noticed it. My machine came with 8 or 9 different feet and some have that spring at the left back of them. I will have to maybe find my manual to see if it explains it. Happy 😊Sewing and Thank You for Your thought about it.!♡
@joycewilson37873 жыл бұрын
I hope Laura has the answer because I also wandered just what the heck it was for. Here's hoping !
@kaybutcher57193 жыл бұрын
My manual says it’s for when you are sewing over a particularly thick seam or spot in your sewing project. Evidently you push in on the little knob as you slowly sew over those bulky seams and release after you’ve crossed the problem seam. I hope that makes sense. Can’t tell you how well it works because I always forget about it. :/. Maybe someone else has used it successfully.
@MarieH5283 жыл бұрын
@misscherylannN Oh Yes 👍, Exactly what I didn’t know! Thank You 😊 So Much, that makes so much sense and definitely something I can take advantage of in My future sewing! I appreciate You taking the time to enlighten Me! Happy Sewing 🧵!
